I find something on any kind of menu. You can always found something that is baked or grilled. Appetizers are great too. (as long as they aren't fried!) I tend to go for seafood most of the time, even at italian restaraunts. I tend to order the "fra diavolo" (mussels, clams, scallops, calamari in red sauce, over pasta) type dishes. I eat the seafood and maybe a bite of pasta. I always have TONS to take home.

Check out Calorie Counter, Diet Tracking, Food Journal, Nutrition Facts at The Daily Plate - lists all food, by calorie content, in all major restaurants/chains. Other good info, too.

Now that I am on maintenance, caloric intake is my yardstick (along with protein and other nutritional values). This site has been so helpful to me.

This is my trick. Appetizers, and a box.
And I always say, "my eyes were bigger than my stomach."

Default Wonderful Date Night!

Hi All - Just thought I would share and thank you all for your input. (I heart this forum!) We ended up going to LongHorn. (We had a free appetizer coupon and nothing trumps free!) And I ended up getting this grilled chicken dish with a tomato, garlic and basil salsa and steamed veggies. It was quite good. I even had a few shrimp from our Wild West Shrimp FREE appetizer. Not something I would eat very often but they were good and I had no problems. Bonus - We'll be making several more meals off the leftovers.

Afterwards, we saw IronMan. It was a great movie. If you like superhero/action/adventure movies, I highly recommend it.

Overall, it was a great and memorable 5th anniversary!

Again, thanks everyone for your input and your help with my question.

A~
