Exclamation Bill's Home!

Hi All,
My Honey is finally home! He's been resting a lot and getting the sleep he needed...we all are. He's moving around pretty good. I took the pain med catheters out this morning. He still has the drain, which looks good.

We did our walk down our street and we decided that our neighborhood is like a "Wisteria Lane" without all of the interaction. We could just feel the neighbors looking out their windows wondering what had happened to Bill. We had fun thinking what thoughts could be going on in their heads.

I'm home tomorrow with him as well. Hopefully he'll be okay to be by himself the rest of the week. I'll be taking Thursday off to take him to the post-op/nutrition appointment. I'm really looking forward to hearing the whole nutriton part again. When Dr. Callery was at the hospital, he got the scale out to weigh Bill. After Bill got off the scale, I asked if I could get on there. The scale moved down a few notches! Dr. C got on there and I weighed less than him! Mind you, he's taller than me, but darn it if it didn't feel good. Dr. Callery is a real character and very funny. I didn't get to know him like this as a patient, but as the wife of another patient, there was more interaction. Bill and I are both grateful for his gift!

Bill is eager to tell you all a few stories that he has from the hospital. As soon as he gets back up and feels up to it, I'm sure he'll post it. Pretty interesting stuff.

BILL'S HOME!!!!!

Thumbs up Yippie

I am so glad that he is home. We were just talking about it today at the beach. We were all wondering how he is doing. Now we know. Thanks for keeping us updated on him.

Default My wife

I watched her get on the scale. I really hate when she gets near scales. Scales are "relative" No two scales are the same. This one said she weighs two pounds more than her work scale. But it was 2 or so pounds less than Dr. Callery's scales. The look in her eyes when she was the lightest of the three of weighing themselves....."Priceless". I thought she was going to do the happy dance. During Irela's hospital stay we didnt see Dr. Callery much. We did get to interact with him alot in the time I was in the hospital(the one upside to having complications.) I personally dont care for doctors. Have alway felt they are a necessary evil. I dont usually trust them and have always felt they are trying to cover their butts.... I dont feel that way about Dr Callery. His bedside manner is over the top. His compassion and thoughfullness it truly amazing. I am glad he is my doctor and I feel lucky that my wife and I found him.

well have got to try and get a popscicle down......

talk more later

Billy, welcome home!! I am glad to see you up and posting so soon. Enjoy your popsicle, if you are anything like me, you will be loving them for months to come!

Can't wait to hear your stories...Dr C. was so marvelous with both Mike and I. I will say this about his office. You never feel like you are a patient #, a chart, a payee. They always make you feel like what you are...a person who has family who loves you! Glad to see you are home with yours!

Sorry I didn't get by to see him in the hospital. I totally spaced it that afternoon, then figured he had gone home the next day. I am really sorry!

Talking No worries

Hi Tricia,
No problem. I told him you had asked about coming by to see him, but with everything that was going on, I think he was more concerned with being able to go home. We appreciate your thoughts though.

Default Welcome Home

Bill,

Welcome home and welcome to the "other side" I am sorry you had complications, but like Dr. C. says he'll never forget your name now!! He knows Stuart and I by our first names and he has had a lot of patients.. so be thankful for that. I am really glad you were able to get home safely. Hey that pain pump is awesome isn't it?

Irela.. thanks for letting us know you weigh less than Dr. C.. that means I do too!! How exciting is that? I kept wanting to ask him what he weighed but I never had the guts.. lol

You guys take good care of each other now (and I know you will) Wishing you a safe and speedy recovery, Bill.
