wrote a long reply and proceeded to lose it in cyberspace. basically I am using my daughters apple and I am not an apple person, Also typing with a blood gasses monitor on my finger is a trip too. Hopefully I will be home tomorrow, all wentwell. They found a hiatal hernia they repaired. I have been chewing ice, then sipping and doing a ton of walking and the spirometer,,,but my scary moment, AND THIS GROSS SO BEWARE...WAS when I thought I had to defecate and out came a blood clot that was about the size of a small rump roast, with lots of blood...since that time I have had lots of blood come outa my butt about six times the doc says it's normal. Anybody else have that happen? Scared me lots. Especially the first time when it scared my young rn who ran to call the doctor and then she never got back to me and nobody answered the call light when I sought info. The doctor came to see me at six am today and reassured me. shortly I will send this and likely 'defecate' more blood as I have the urge. Aside from some excruciating shoulder pain that comes and goes, I am walking a lot. sipping a lot and the staff has been wonderful, along with my wonderful family. Was SO touched to read a thread all about me. Thanks...wont be able to write more till tomorrow. but thanks!

Bill, that is NOT normal. If you continue to "poop blood" insist on testing. We don't want you leaving the hospital with a leak or something.
Sorry, I don't mean to scare you hon.
