Default Low pulse and weight loss

I had a couple of procedures performed today, and the nurse commented about my pulse being very low. (She didn't give me an exact number.) I haven't felt light headed or dizzy. Could my pulse rate be low because of weight loss? Blood pressure was lower than it has been in years, so I was pleased about that! But the pulse rate concerns me.

At my 10 day follow up my pulse was fine but my blood pressure was much lower than should have been (my blood pressure has always been good). I was pretty dehydrate too. Then they tried to take some blood. I was seconds away from passing out which NEVER happens. Just thought I would share.

My pulse was really slow but I was still on some blood pressure meds after surgery. I was checking my pulse at home one day and about freaked when I found it at 38!!! Needless to say I called my surgeon right away and they took me off my blood pressure meds.

Are you on any meds that could be affecting it?

hehehe...I know, I freaked to say it mildly. I was shocked I was still standing. I was like duhhhh...no wonder I've been feeling so dizzy lately!! I stopped my meds right then before I even called the doctor's office. I basicly called them just to let them know what I did. It managed to come up to the 50's and 60's after a couple of weeks of being off the meds problem was my blood pressure went back up then. Ended up back on a different blood pressure med that didn't bottom out my heartrate until I had plastics. Just getting the weight from my pannus off those major groin vessels brought it down to normal without meds.

Doctor asked me about meds, and I'm not taking anything that would affect pulse or bp. I haven't had any dizziness or light headed feelings. I had wondered if eating so little had anything to do with it.

Hi Janelle, no comment from me on your original post, as I'm ignorant on that kind of stuff. But...I had to comment on your weight loss between week 5 and week 6 (14.8 lbs!!!). You go girl! Talk about posting double digit numbers for a single week! Congrats on your great loss, and your great overall loss so far.

I'm not sure what happened in those weeks! I'm a little freaked out by skipping the 230's all together, but by the same token, I want to lose the weight! I'm anxious to see what happens next week.

DON"T FREAK OUT if you have a plateau. You have lost a lot of weight really quickly. It's about time your body comes to a screeching halt. Just warning you beforehand. DON'T FREAK OUT!
