Tough love is hard to accept, and posting a question or request for advice on a forum, one must expect to get all sorts of responses - even those you don't want to hear or those that don't give you the warm fuzzies.

I hope you find what you're looking for, but you said it yourself that folks mean well...

Mark, I am sad to hear that you are leaving.

I know what you mean about wanting to hear positive things but...sometimes we need to hear and know the very real nagative things that can and might happen to us along this journey.

If it seems they are all jumping down your throat and being "rude" perhaps it's just that it's hard to hear the underlying tones and voices through a p.c. monitor. It's not like in reality where you can hear the comfort or concern. Words are words on here, plain and simple.

But in truth, as I was told by my doctor...lettuce is not an easily digestable food even 4-6 months post op and sometimes it gets stuck on the way down and then starts to irritate your pouch and can cause you a whole bunch of other problems. So see that is why some here become alarmed hearing that you even "tried" it. Because you are so fresh from surgery that doing these experiments right now could and might land you back in the emergency room.

I hope you don't get offended by anything I said. I am not excusing anyone or anything just trying to shed some light on human behaviour at times.

*hugs*

Stop by sometime and we can talk through messages on your profile. Right now is not the time for you to be alone , trust me I know.

you don't know me......and how dare you judge me or anyone else around here.....i judge you because you attacked everyone else trying to help. I never said anything about your eating habits....i didn't even comment to your post.....but when you post some stupid post about I'm leaving this forum boo, hoo, the freck hoo because you don't like what people say, then I said something. No sympathy here, if you don't like the responses you get then find somewhere else to go..... don't attack the people trying to help you!!!

I am 8 1/2 months post op and still can't eat a potato. My doc advised against them forever due to the starches and carbs. Hope this helps.

examples i was making a menu of things to eat in te future to keep me busy, so i asked are we able to eat mashed potatoes.
70% of post started ranting on at me to stop eating potatoes and follow my diet. at no point did i say i was eating them , so it just does my head in.

the final straw is i post i need advise my doctor is away and i have no feeling of fullness and i could drink fair normaly. i mentioned i had a tea spoon of lettice ham and peeled cucumber to see if i could feel it.
But instead of answering the question they all focus of the friggin lettice and tell me to follow the diet sheets. I KNOW WHAT IM MENT TO BE FOLLOWING.
I know everyone means well but i dont think they read the threads before posting.
If someone needs help with something whats wrong with helping / answering thr questions asked. If this is something that cant be done what is the point in a support forum.

I do thank all the people who have been helpful and friendly you have been a great help and made it easier for me to resolve issues i have.

I wish you all well for the future

Mark
