Default does hot or spicy food bother you?

Just wonder for all you post - ops does spicy food like buffalo wings, salsa, hot things like that make you dump or bother your little pouchies . . . Buffalo wings are my FAV! Will I have to give em up?

In my experiences, they bothered me at first but 8 months out, they are fine (in moderation of course!)

I know that kelly asked me simply, would you pour hot sauce on your incision? I took that as a tip not to try that stuff. Not in the beginning anyway. As for now a year post op, I can tolerate anything, I just have to take it one bite at a time to see if it is only going to be a bite, or will I get my fill. so that is how we eat. Our pouches determine if we eat it or not.

I use hot sauce in everything just about that I put cheddar.

Hugs,

Traci

Default Some like it hot..

If I couldn't have hot and spicy food.. my choices would be limited.. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my food spicy and hot.. like my man!! hehehe

Anyway I do just fine. I went very bland in the beginning.. to protect my pouchie.. but now I am good with it. Good luck to you.. You don't have to give that up for sure. However, if they are fried and not baked....now that might be a problem??

I eat hot sauce on everything (7 weeks out). Doc says it's fine if it's not really hot. I eat spicy quite a bit, but ask your doc to see what he says. Everyone is different. In the beginning (at least for me) it's trial and error. I used to eat mushrooms all the time and now they make me violently ill. Even mushroom soup makes me sick.

I was eating hot and spicy at 4 weeks out. I actually enjoy spicy foods more now. Didn't tolerate even mild salsa before. Bring on the habenaroes!
