Talking Doctor's Goal Reached!

Today I reached the goal weight set for me by my surgeon! Woo hoo!

At my last appointment, my doctor told me it was an 18 month goal...and I did it in less than 7 months. ::buffs nails:: Yes, I can gloat a little more if you like It was only for losing 2/3 of my excess weight, which my program considers a success. I asked about continued weight loss expectations at my 6 month appointment and they promised that once I reached 204 they would set me a new goal.

But it feels so good to MEET a goal...and now I plan to blow right past it! Next stop: Onederland!

Thanks guys! I've been beaming all day. I want to run around my office and tell everyone! Tonight, I'm totally going to call my friends and family who know about and support my journey and tell them the news, LOL.

About goals: I do know that this journey is not all about numbers, though it might not seem like I do since I track my numbers so closely. I know that if you don't focus on the process then the numbers won't mean anything anyway 'cause there's a huge chance you'll just gain it all back. For me, I wanted to learn how to live healthier so that I could feel better and healthier. And I do! I already do! I feel GREAT! I'm improving in all areas of life -- exercise, home-life, confidence, socially, career-wise, other types of goal-setting, grooming, etc. I'm making plans for my future and taking steps to make them happen. For me, the numbers are important only so much as they do keep me motivated. They are a way for me to remind myself every day that a huge part of my self-improvement campaign IS because I've had success with the numbers. It's a reminder, and right now I can't see myself stopping the slightly-obsessive tracking I do with fitday.com and regularly weighing myself. Right now it works...in the future, who knows? I've already had to make changes along the way to improve my progress, and am open to whatever keeps my success chugging along.
