Default Hair Loss

So... four days until the four month mark. I'm pretty happy, overall, with how things are going. (On that note - is my weight loss on track?) However, with the weight, I'm now shedding my hair. I'm not going bald quite yet, but if I run my fingers through my hair I definitely get a few strands. And after a bath I always have to get a decent sized ball out of the drain. I've been using some anti-breakage shampoo/conditoner/leave-in treatment, but it doesn't seem to be helping. I'm getting my protein, and taking my vitamins so that isn't it... anyone else have this problem? Is it normal or should I be concerned? And either way.. does anyone know if some good old fashioned Rogaine might do the trick?

It's normal even with getting in the protein and vitamins. I started up on additional vitamins at the 3 month stage but it didn't really help much. I still had the hair loss from 3 months up until about 9 months. It was noticable to me but not so much others. I figured it was just part of the process and really didn't get all freaked out about it. It does come back so try not to get too freaked out about it.

I had a bit of a thin hair issue right above my forehead prior, it is getting notisable, and now at 13 weeks, I am starting to have hair thinning issues again due to the surgery. I was told Nioxin Scalp Treatment and cleanser by my doctors office, infact they say to start prior to surgery, well I did not, but I got my hair cut 14 inchess off the other day at Wal-Mart, and was telling the lady how I was not happy how thin my hair was, she said she had the same issue then used Nioxin and by the looks of her hair, she had a nice thick hair line, which is what I hope to get again, so I am using it now, and love the minty thingly feeling I get from it lol, if anything else, I have quite the aroma therapy during bath time, but I let you know if I get any results here in a month or so, I was told that is how soon you start notising the difference.
Either way, hair does start coming back in a few months, so like Milady said, don't worry too much about it, besides, worry can make your hair fall more lol.

I found it at Wal-Mart's Sallon (spelling?) Try some of the beuty places, just call and see if they have it,, it's a bit expensive, I paid around $60 for both, but bottles are big so they should last awhile, I hope anyways.
Best of luck.

My hairloss started at about 3 months and I am soon going to be 9 months post op and I am just now noticing my hair loss is tapering off and new growth is emerging. My doc and hairdresser both suggested added biotin to my supplements I am taking to help with the loss and regrowth. I think it has worked some. You can get a bottle at walmart for 2 or 3 bucks. My hair is thin anyway so I felt like it was falling out by the handfuls but like everyone else said no one seemed to notice but me. Good luck and it is just temporary.

Oh thank God lol. I've been worrying that I'm going to end up bald by the time I walk across the stage at graduation. As long as most of it stays in, and the rest grows back I'm going to be fine. I think I'll keep buying some of the BioSilk and Restorative shampoos and treatments though; I like the way my hair feels, even if it is getting thinner. Thank you guys for your replies

Yes it is expensive, and Wal-Mart prices are some of the best, can't imagine how much it would cost somewhere else.

I don't buy much for my self, I always seem to put everyone in the family first, kids clothes, shoes, socks, etc, etc, so I thought that this would be the thing that was just for me, even if it costed as much, even if money is short right now, I went for it. If I don't see improvement by the time the bottles are gone, I might choose not to buy it again, we shall see.
