No plastic
Well I had a consult yesterday with a plastic surgeon and he told me that there was no doubt in his mind that my insurance would NOT approve a tummy tuck or breast aug. This is EXPENSIVE. My husband told me we would do what it took to get it, but it's so depressing. We have military insurance and I had my surgery before they made a big switch. Before it was no problem and now they don't cover it at all. *sigh*

Oh no, I am sorry to hear this. I was told that I wouldn't be a candidate because the insurance requires a certain amount of skin to be removed...well duh, I have enough. My husband and I discussed paying for it. It is like we will be buying a car, but it is a permanent investment rather than one that loses it's value right after you drive it off the lot. I am prepared to "charge it" if I have to. After all, I believe I worked hard to get where I am today. I think we all deserve it.

I'm taking out a loan for mine. They have special lenders just for cosmetic surgeries. Even if I default on the loan, it's not like they can take my breasts away. You can lose a house or car, but my boobies are here to stay

Who is your insurance with? Mine only coverd the removal of the extra skin and the bust reconstruction. Document rashes and back pain. That should help you out.

The problem
That's the problem there is no back pain or rashes. The only problem I can pretend to have is that my breasts get sore when I wear bras. I hate to complain at all because in the big picture I am pretty fortunate. My PS told me that I look great. About like a lot of women after pregnancy. I don't need a breast lift, just aug... My tummy tuck scar would only end up being about 6-8 inches long instead of from side to side b/c of minimal skin. Great right? Yeah.... but not if you can't afford it and are looking to insurance. Then the worse the better. He told me I was looking at around 10 thou and told me all about loans etc. and that if I wanted a lower body lift it would be more like 20 thou. He also said the problem doesn't justify the scar for lower body and that I'd be happy with just a tummy tuck. So I'm fortunate ... hurrah. I hate having that attidude, but I just want what I want. I've come a long way and I don't want the journey cut short...you know?

I feel ya girl
I totally understand what you are saying. I feel very fortunate that everything I requested got approved. I wrote a pretty good letter if I do say so myself and I firmly believe that is what helped me to get approved. Use it and word it to suit you if you like.. I don't mind.. I won't hold a copyright on it.. LOL

Now why are you feeling guilty about wanting to look your best? So what if others think you vain or unsatisfied. It's about what you want for yourself. It's okay to be selfish.
I'm going for a BL and BA along with a full 360 apron/TT. I worked hard to get the sleek and toned body and I don't want any loose skin in my way. I'm too young to sit back and whine about the good old days when I was thin and miss the opprotunity to create the image that reflects how I feel. If I get a good 10-15 years out of it, then i'd say is was worth it. Then I don't have to waste thousands of dollars on firming and anti-aging creams

Marie
Marie,
That is such an amazing point. Here I was after a few days reflection getting ready to forgoe the surgery all together. Kind of feeling selfish and thinking why should I obsess about how I look under my clothes... BUT.... It is a wonderful investment. 10-15 years I'll be enjoying this body. 10-15 years of not self consciously (I have no idea how to spell that) pulling my shirt down past my waist line, or wearing padded wonder bras. Maybe I'd even go get another belly button ring!!! Or maybe not..... I can hear my son's friends now "Dude, your mom....."

I want a belly ring and some tattoos too! I was thinking some discreet tats my help cover some of the scars. Also, by having the surgery done now, while I'm young, then it's just a little touch up later, if needed. It won't look so drastic than if I waited until 40 or so. If my skin is flabby now, can you imagine what another 15 years will look?

I can already tell that I will desperately need an arm lift and I know ins. won't cover. So my hubby has promised to pay for it. 76-81 more lbs to go! I am pretty sure my ins will cover the TT. I have a friend with the same ins and she just had it done (looks wonderful) Breast lift too, but she had to pay. I hope things work out! I know you deserve it!!!!
