Default Anyone catch Oprah today? GBS patient loses 200 lbs.

Hi Everyone,

I saw the Oprah show today and they had a woman on who lost 200 lbs. via GBS. They showed her before pix. Yikes! I am starting to look like that!
Anyone else catch the show? Her "after" pix from the skin removal and boob job looked great. I hope I can fix my "stuff" too. Anyone else out there have the plastic surgery done after GBS? What were your results? I am seriously starting to consider this when I am stable in my weight for some time.

Blessings,
Mindy

Mindy,

I wish I could've been home to watch Oprah. I don't get off work in time.

I am so impressed by your weight loss so far. You are doing a great job!

My husband lost 220 lbs after WLS. He's pretty flabby, but not enough for insurance to cover skin removal. He has 40 lbs of skin I'm sure wobbling around his body. He was considered for an "Extreme Makeover" episode, but in the end, one of the surgeons wouldn't do it because he was a smoker, even if he were to quit. We went to a consultation and an estimate was $18,000 to have a tummy tuck, arms, legs, and back done. I know one gal who had the excess skin removed, a boob job, and a face lift. She looks fabulous, and no one could ever guess she was ever in her life overweight. She also looks 10 years younger.

Whoa! $18,000 for all of that?!? Ok, I think I may have to do a little at time. That's too bad about not being on Extreme Makeover. That is a great show to watch....except you know there is more pain involved than they let on. :-)

Blessings,
Mindy
