On liquid diet Surgery in 2 days HELP!!!

Hi ,

I am going to post this question in Pre and Post Gastric Bypass. I am currently on clear liquids because my surgery is in 2 days. I am starving and my stomach keeps growling . Do you have any suggestions on what I could drink or eat. I bought some jello and have been drinking water but I am still hungry.

Ronda

I can only have clear liquids. My doctor did say that I could have milk. I just drank a protein shot. I had a pro slam , which has 27g of protein. I was also floating with the idea of drinking one of my slimfast drinks since it is made out of fat free milk and doc said that I could have milk.

Hi rontay

I had a good conversation with my doctor on this .
In basic you go on protein / fluids to make your liver smaller.
But if you ge called into a early operation date mostly they dont have time to diet for 2 weeks normally 1 week and the doctors finds this more then enough. but this depends on how big you are and if you suffer from fatty liver.
But having a slim fast drink wont hurt if you cant hold out.
i would have the smil fast then have a glass of milk with it.

I did cheat and my doctor was not worried as i was called in early and had already booked my last meal in a fancy restaurant (solids)
but im not telling you to do this.

recap

1. try hold out
2. if you cant hold out its better to drink the slim fast with a glass of milk

i hope this helps a little

In addition to this do you have anything in the stats called OXO cubes
they are stock cubes . you can have these and they feel like your having soup. the chicken or veggie ones are ok go try it.
google OXO cube if you have no idea what i mean

You can put some beneafiber in with your protein shakes that will help. It helps me.
