Default March staplers...how ya doing?

I just missed having a thread with all the March people, so I thought I'd start a thread to check up on everybody. So far, I've done very well. Pouch has been a bit pissy lately, but overall, I'm pleased with where I am.

I thought I'd check in and give my two cents. I am doing great. I feel great and have only had one little problem with getting sick. That was my fault though. I tried a bite or two of my wife's hamburger and that sat fine but then I was parched and I gulped some water before my head started shouting to stop and then it sat there like a brick in my chest and I ended up getting sick. Live and Learn I guess. I'm up to 61lbs lost..9lbs from being under 300 forever. I can't wait. I don't have a problem getting my liquids in but I need to work harder at getting all my protein in. Never thought I would fight myself to eat something when I wasn't hungry. Yet the "nut" says she wants me trying to eat 5-6 small things a day. Oh yeah, I've gone down one shirt size and two pant sizes and if I hear one more person say "That shirt looks like a dress on you"...I'm gonna smack someone. I know my shirts are getting bigger on me but tell that to my head who still sees the 370lb lard ass. Oh well..that's all I got. Have a great Wednesday!!

Hi all,
Im doing great. No complaints other than I hate wearing this binder. Im 1 wk 2 days post and feel wonderful. Im getting 75-78 ounces of liquids per day and 50-60 gr. protein (via syntrax nectar w/water). Staples come out next tuesday and I cant wait. Im down 12 pounds since surgery day so Im pleased with that. Thanks for starting this thread Jannelle, It will be nice to read up on the March group!!

Dunno what a stapler is - but my surgery was in March.

I'm doing pretty good. Getting 40oz of liquid in, if I'm lucky and haven't had many issues with the pouch. I'm sticking pretty strictly to the diet prescribed though and life is going good.

Hi all,
I'm glad to say that all is well with me at 9 days out. No troubles yet with clear and full liquids. I have my first follow-up tomorrow, we'll see if my doctor agrees to let me start soft foods. I've been dreaming of a eggs!
My best to all fellow March Staplers!

Doing fantastic!
I was lucky to have minimal pain...
It is taking me a little effort to try to deal with my "hungry head"... because even though my BODY doesn't want the food... my head does! It gets to me, when I am craving something - and when I finally get to EAT it - I'm full in about 4 bites! LOL

I'm eating EVERYTHING except white bread and sugar... I'm so pleased! I never seem to get enough fluids though, so I'm working on that.

I'm sick of mashing my pills... they taste absolutely dreadful. I'm taking them though - and my vitamins and calcium.

I've had one issue with throwing up - maybe slight dumping. I ate a sugar free cookie - and oh my. I'll never do it again. I'm guessing the sugar alcohols got to me - It only lasted for about 15 minutes. Thank God!

My clothes are getting baggy - and that is SUCH a good feeling. Sometimes I feel like maybe I'm not losing enough, but at my 3 week post-op appointment I'd lost 21lbs - and the Dr. said I was on "the high end of normal".

I'm trying to excercise - and last night, because it was raining, and I couldn't walk - I did a "Taebo" video - and oh my gosh... do I feel it today!

Thanks for this thread. It's nice to keep in touch with the people who had surgery around the same time as me. Kinda keeps us on our toes to watch everyone's progress.

Have a great day!

Default Checking In

It is so terrific to hear all the success storied.

Had my surgery on 3/10.
Feel tired all the time. Not getting enough protein bc I hate every suppliment I try.

Have lost 35lbs - that's the good news.

Hope I can start solids next week and get more protein.

Default Hello Fellow March friends!

I am doing well, but am scared I'm not eating right. I have minimal pain, eat 3times a day, and have not been sick. I have runny cream of wheat for breakfast, and soup for lunch and dinner. In between I try to drink my water with protein mixed in.

I did put myself on clear liquids today because I think I ate too much sodium yesterday. My DIL got regular cream soup instead of the low sodium (no wonder I could eat it so well).

My 2 week follow up is Monday, and I don't think I've lost anything but the weight I gained from the hospital IV's! I was trying to post my going home pic because it is truly scary

I hope we keep this thread going because it's good to see how we're all doing.

Default Hi

Well I am now a month out. I've lost 40lbs and am back to work as of today.

I feel good for the most part but hate all the protein suppliments. I am getting so little protein that I am very worried.

I started on solid food yesterday! YEAH!

Any ideas for high protein foods would be greatly appreciated.

Has anyone tried protein bars? Dr. said I can try them just wondering how the pouch will react.

Hope everyone is doing well.
