Fresh made food is always better than processed! When you cook, you're in control of what goes into your mouth. You know exactly what things are made of before you eat it. I always figured, if you can't pronounce the ingredient, then maybe it shouldn't go into your body.

Yes, Ms. P I think we are all addicts of the food channel. I seriously watch it every day. We enjoy Emeril.. (although he's gotten a bit annoying lately) We like Iron Chef America.. the other one is just plain weird.. lol, He likes Rachel Ray.. (I think she's annoying.. close that big mouth of yours will ya? She is just too animated for me) I like semi-homemade, oh you name it there is always something on there that we will watch.
I didn't watch it before surgery though.. I Can tell you that for sure. One of my favorites though.. and it is just because to me it seems so vulgar is oh man.. what's her name?? The southern lady.. she was on the seafood challenge.. anyway.. she uses like a pound of butter in everything.. LOL

Okay, now I feel left out. I don't get the food channel, so therefore I don't watch it. I did cook last night and the night before though. Last night was burgers, but I made a HUGE mistake on them. Usually I use Worchestire, Soy, and Meat Marinade for seasoning on my burgers. Well, I grabbed the teriyaki instead of the Worchestire. I can't handle even the lite teriyaki since surgery so that burger (no bun, just meat and cheese) didn't sit for long. Oh well, the steak from the night before was good though!

Oh my gosh! LOL! I thought it was just me.
Mike laughed so hard at me my first week after surgery, the TV was glued to the Food Network! I watched ALL of the cooking shows, it was like some kind of compulsion. I didn't have ANY desire to eat any of it, I just wanted to SEE food? Too wierd...
I haven't been cooking nearly as much since my surgery. I make the guys trade off and do it 4 out of 7 days. But the 3 days I do cook I REALLY enjoy it. The smells are nice and I find that it's a nice activity, even if I don't eat it. The biggest problem was I had no idea how much I cook "by taste" vs. "by recipe". Heck, I don't KNOW how long you cook rice! You cook it until you taste it and it's done, right? Uh-oh! I nearly killed myself week 3 doing that, you've never seen anyone spit rice out faster in your life!

Alright guys, what is the deal with the food network? I never watched it before and I have been hooked for seven weeks! I hate to say this but, I think it's kind of like porn to me. I can't eat it, but you can't stop me from looking!!!!!!

I too am addicted to the Food Network...isn't that weird? I have to agree with the person who said that Rachael Ray was annoying. I can't stand when she repeats herself over and over again. Add a little E-V-O-O Extra Virgin Olive Oil...LOL I know you know what I'm talking about hehehe
