I am so happy for you and I can't wait until I'm there. I'm just waiting on Leslie to call me now. I got my letter in the mail on Saturday but haven't heard from the Dr.'s office. If I don't hear by the end of the day do you think I should call them? I'm so ready to do this. I'm really scared at the same time. I have been so emotional since I got the letter on Saturday. I'm glad everyone is here so I can read what you have been through and are going through. It really does help.

Thanks Again

Default Tonya

Tonya,
After I got the approval from the insurance company and had a date scheduled I was an emotional basketcase. I would cry at the drop of a hat, I would become a cocoon and not talk to anyone. I would hug my kids and even if they were yelling and screaming to let them go, I wouldn't. I was telling everyone I knew "goodbye" JUST IN CASE. I was writing letters and spending hours on the phone with people I hadn't spoken to in YEARS. It was crazy. I actually thought I was going crazy. My best friend asked me why I was crying and I told him, "I DON'T KNOW!" and started crying harder. LOL looking back now, I feel rediculous, but I think it was because I didn't know what to expect. I'm only 3 weeks out (almost...) and I am finding more and more reasons to be happy. My ankles are back, the swelling in my feet has gone away, my fingers aren't as fat anymore, my butt is slowly but surely disappearing, my tummy is shrinking, I feel alive again, my self esteem is returning, my self confidence is inching up...Thank God for Dr. Callery and this surgery and Thank God for all of you here on this board!

Bridge....that is SO freakin' awesome!!!!! I am so thrilled for you, my chubby friend! You rock!

Tonya...I, too, was a basket case when I found out my surgery date. It is totally normal, so don't worry. Just remember, talk about how you are feeling to someone, anyone!! It helped me tremendously to share with my bypass buddies what I was going through.

Brenda, you are doing great lady! It is nice to see you posting!

To everyone,
Today, my chart ended dictation and was sent for final approval to the insurance company. I don't even have a surgery date scheduled yet and I am going crazy.

I have 3 kids and a wonderful husband (yes, I am a female Dale)
who all can't wait until I have the surgery. I am driving my family crazy and maybe some of you are already sick of hearing me whining.

I am so thankful to have found all of you. I am online constantly at work and find myself not being able to concentrate because I am so excited.

I have the same kind of feelings as many people do like what if "I don't make it" through the surgery. A lot of people keep telling me horror stories and I just keep logging onto this site to make myself feel better.
Thanks to everyone for the support

Dale

You know I've gotten the same thing from a lot of people about how the surgery is a big risk and things. I always tell them well that's a risk I'm willing to take because its not much more of a risk than me walking around everyday at this weight. I mean we all know at the weight we start at we are just slowly killing ourselves. I mean its hard to walk, run or do anything for that matter, or at least for me it is. If you ever need to vent at someone feel free to send me a message on here. I have been pretty lucky my coworkers know what I'm going through and are supporting me 100%. With my family, friends and coworkers I've got a great support team. Just remember we all love you and are here for you.

Default For Bridget

Way to go! That is fantastic! Yes, to be in the "under 200 club" is absolutely sureal! I freak out moving the 50 lbs. weights to the 150 mark instead of moving it to the 200 mark. It doesn't seem real to me yet. Its nice to have your BMI low enough to not qualify for surgery now, huh?? Mine was 47 and now its 29....I think.
I'm just chubby now too.... isn't it great!

Blessings,
Mindy
