OMG i have been stalling like every other week lately! what is wrong with me!! i have weighed 225 for 3 weeks its very irritating. I loose a pound here and there and then wella another stalling point. I eat right, drink my protein i'm just alittle discouraged and i know that some of you all are right there too but why does it seem like in 3 1/2 months i should be down more! Grrr I'm just venting but some days i want to take a big break from TT because everyone except ME is doing so well at loosing weight. I feel like a still fat looser!

I am sorry to hear that, I imagine how frustrated I would be if I was in your shoes.
Have you talked to your doctor about this? I know you mentioned you are not doing any excersizing yet, perhaps that might help kick it and get it going again. Excersize don't have to start supper hard and all that, just getting up one day and putting an hour of intense cleaning to a designated room in your home can do a great deal, next day another room, take a break for a day then do another room, etc. Walk around the house if you can't get out and such, five minutes here and five minutes there add up to a lot. I had to loose before I got started with excersize, but once I did a few pounds I got going and I started slow, still slow honestly, but I get in around four days a week, seems to be helping. Well keep doing the right thing, and do talk to your doctor about this.

I thought "STALL" was going to be the name of the game for me for good, given how early and long mine lasted. Last week was the first week I didn't throw up at least once or twice.. and this week I've finally managed to up my protein to a minimum of 60 grams, some days closer to 70.. and my calories have jumped from 500 to a range of 700 to 800 and it seems my stall has broken *yay!
Now my only problem is of the 'not enough fiber and it doesn't feel so great' kind.. ![]() I'm using the paid version of Fit Day to track all my foods and though it is a bit time consuming having to add any foods that they don't have listed or the recipes I use, it has really helped me track what's going into my mouth. Once these are all entered once, I don't have to keep typing them up..just a click here or there and I'm good to go. It does have a very large list to start with, just if you want to customize anything, you'll have to do that manually. Do you have a system for tracking yours? Honestly, I thought I was doing better than I really was and didn't realize just how bad until I had this program.. there are several available online.. I happen to prefer this one (not the free online one, but the paid version..much faster!).. but in a thread recently with the word 'fitday' someone posted several links to a couple of different free online tracking programs. It might help, maybe? Quote:

Deborah, the big areas to look at when you stall are how much exercise are you getting in, how many calories, how much protein and how much water. Stalls can come because you aren't eating enough calories. I know you said you are drinking your protein but actually how many calories are you getting in? At your stage I would say you should be shooting for about 750-900 calories a day. Also how much protein are you getting in? If it is around 60 see if you can increase it a bit to about 70. If you aren't tracking your intakes I would suggest you start so that you have some indication of where you honestly are at. You might be surprised to find you are only getting in 300 calories or so.
Sometimes you need to try to shake things up a bit by increasing calories, protein, water and/or exercise. If you haven't been able to exercise much just start with several small walks a day...in your house or outside. You don't have to be doing 30 min right off the bat...see if you can do like 3 10 min walks...just get some extra steps in that you aren't getting in now. Any movement will help increase your metabolism and hopefully jump start things.

The people here are right, you *have* to increase your calories.. don't be afraid to do it.. it works because your body requires that nutrition! The very day after I increased my calories to the 700 range, I dropped a pound, and then the next day I dropped two.. and then today another one was gone today. Tracking your foods/nutrition is really important. Planning in advance is what has helped me.. every night I plan and map out what I'm eating the next day for every meal. This weekend, I will try to do it on Sunday afternoon, so I don't have to spend so much time after work at night. (My problem is fiber.. I need to find a way to get more and soon! )I'm sure you can do it, I'm rooting for you!

I know how you feel when it comes to plateaus. I feel that I should be losing more than I have. I am 2 months out and have lost 30 lbs. I have a hard time getting all my protein in, along with my water intake. I was taking protein shakes, but I got so tired of them. I have started "eating" all my meals, but I can't eat too much. I am assuming that I need to get more calories in, but my question is, how? I listen to my stomach and when it says I'm full, I quit. How on earth can I get all my protein and calories in when I can only eat a little bit?
I wish I could help you out, but I need help too. If anyone knows of any meal ideas or ways that I can do better, please, please let me know. Deborah, hang in there.....I plan to. |
