Thumbs up I made it - Day 5

Hi All -

I can't tell you how much this website has meant to me although I have been a somewhat silent onlooker. So much info on day to day living, it's terrific.

I had my surgery last Wed, 4/6 - open GB in Phx, AZ. Had to pay cash - Pacificare declined my surgery.

Anyway, was home by Friday night (expedient discharge due to the cash pay) and am getting better each day. My stomach region is still quite achy and I can't sleep through the night yet but my day's are good, especially mornings. Getting the water and protein done is a challenge but I am trying real hard and coming real close.

Thanks for all the info you all put out there. I'm sure there are a lot more silent onlookers like me that get a lot of support here.

Hey Shelly,

Congrats on day 5! Had my surgery on Friday...released after begging Monday. It's so nice not to be stuck with needles every 3-6 hours!

I feel your pain about paying out of pocket - it was an exclusion in my policy.

I'm jealous you are on protein... my doc put me on clear liquids/jello/broth until Saturday.

Great to hear your feeling so well. It is hard to get the liquids down at first-It will get easier. Glad you aren't an on looker anymore! This is a great group for support and questions. To other on lookers- Join in, the more the merrier!

Thumbs up Congrats & Question

Congratulations on coming through alright.

I was just wondering where you had your surgery? I'm in Phoenix, AZ as well and will be at St. Luke's (if I am approved).
