Just an FYI: according to my surgeons office 48-64 ounces of liquids are to be your target...but you'll need to work up to that amount over time. And that is the most important aspect 1-2 weeks post op. And then work your way up to getting your alloted protein amounts in. I'm 9 weeks post-op and am able to get in ALL of my liquids and protein (with the help of protein supplements). It does get easier!!! Do the best you can and eat even if you don't feel like it...you're body needs it!

Default Just keep sipping

Ignore the blunt poster.

Saw my doc today. They said not to force the liquids and try to get in 24oz a day.

Just relax and sip!

wow really, not sure what surgeon would say that because even at 1-2 weeks post op you really do have to force that 48-64 oz of liquids but as i said before you can include soup, your protein shake etc.

and thats the first time i was called a blunt poster (big cheesy smile) cause i'm never usually blunt except when it comes to my own personal experience with being admitted into the hospital at 3weeks post op for dehydration and at that time i was drinking 32oz liquids a day. keep sipping though you will feel so much better when you do

We'll just have to call you "Debra the Blunt Poster" from now on!! Shame on you....

Boy to I remember those day...sip, sip, sip... My pouchie did not like the feel of water...so I added crystal lite tea and it was happy! But it does get better and do what YOU can do...it gets better!! Promise!
