Default Back Pain when eating??

So - I'm a week and a half out... and doing GREAT!!!! I have been watching what I feed my pouchy - and so far, haven't had ANY "rejections". LOL

I just have a couple questions...

When I eat - most of the time, it feels like I can feel my food go the WHOLE WAY DOWN to my pouch... and when it gets to the middle of my back (between my shoulder blades) - it "aches"...? Is that normal, and will it go away? It makes eating very uncomfortable.

Second question - WHY does the first "sip" of a drink that hits the pouch HURT? Is THAT normal? I believe I saw a few other people on here that have this happen when they take their first drink of something... especially if it's cold.

I really appreciate you all - and the time you take to help us newbies along. Hopefully, I'll learn enough to help the people who come after me.

Thanks, for any words you can give,

Mindy

Glad to hear all is going well for you during your first week post-op! I'm sort-of a newbies also but thought I might be able to help a little.

First off, I too experience the pain between the shoulders in my back. I've come to realize it is one of two things~ #1 I'm not chewing well and/or I'm eatting too fast, or too much. #2 My pouch doesn't like what I'm eating!

Secondly, my pouch ALWAYS gurgles with the first sip of liquid in the morning and at the beginning of all meals. I personally like to listen to the orchestra take place. To me it means my pouch is working...
