i was told at that time 2 oz of soup as opposed to 1 oz of puree's. I used to eat almost a whole egg that time but other times i got really full fast. I'm sure your pouch is not too "big" but rather its healing and they dont want you to put too much stress on it so they tell you 2oz of soup. You would have felt very uncomfy had you kept on eating and i'm sure that the liquids dont stay in pouch as long as puree's

I also wondered if they left my stomach too large
because liquids seemed almost too easy for me. I would eat 4 oz of soup about 3-4 times a day. As soon as I started semi-solids, I could tell that indeed my pouch was small. But as for thinking your pouch is too big, I thought it too, so I think it may be a common thing.

Hi, I don't remember the exact amount of soup I was eating early on but your pouch will definitely let you know when it's too much. By the sounds of it...4 oz of soup isn't very much to me.

I think 4 oz of soup is fine. I know I was drinking 8 oz of protein shake from day 2 on. It would take me about 45 min to drink it. Just take it slow and if you start to feel full stop.
Once you start on solids you will probably notice the difference. I always have been able to eat far more liquid food than solids.

I think that is it,, is drink it slow, 4 ounces is not too much but just about right when talking about soup. Now solids, when you get to that, take it very easy and once you feel full, stop, don't even swallow that last bite cause it will feel very uncomfortable, at least for me it will, then I have to get up and walk lol.
About how long it suppose to be there, I say depends on the consistancy, more watery soups like egg flour soup is going to go down real fast,, creams slower, and anything chunky will stay with you even longer, especially if it's thick.

I worried about this today, too!!
But, somewhere in the VAST amount of reading I've done, I read that liquids will process very quickly, which won't allow you to feel full.
I found that however full I made the bowl, I was afraid that I would eat it! Tomorrow, I am going to measure out the ounces and put that much in my bowl. I certainly DON"T want to stretch anything!!

My surgeon would say yes, you should slow down. I can't have any of that stuff until I am 3 weeks out. I snuck and ate an egg two days ago and it was DIVINE! And I tried Taco Bell Refried beans. I ate 2 spoonsful, felt full, quit and did fine. Other than those two cheats, I haven't had any solid food since surgery. I am also afraid of dumping, pissing tummy off, etc!
