Default Better Night for SWMBO

Thanks for all the support so far. Night was better. Bladder finally evacuated. Yay! She has that milestone beat. Pain in the incision area still there. Loritab is mildly cutting it. Sleeping in bits and pieces. Oxygen still an issue. She is probably not completly filling her lungs due to the pain. Remember kids, use your breathy thingy and try to breath deeply - no matter what the pain. I know, easier said than done. Remember - I been there!

She needs to pass gas today. Next milestone. 1 or 2 more days here in the hospital.

Hi Jim and Sandy... I had O2 problems afterward too... I think the gas-pressure in my belly kept me from taking nice deep breaths. I can imagine the incision pain would add to that as well.

Our granddaughters enjoy playing with the spirometer... that's how I "recylcled" mine!

Sounds like to she is doing well. Hope she continues to feel better daily and the pain continues to subside. I never thought I would say this but good luck with the passing of gas.

Good to hear Jim. Always thought it was funny that to leave the hospital, all I had to do was fart.

You guys have so much more fun than we did - Dr D did NOT require evidence of any evacuations or passes

Good luck with that one

Hi there Jim, I've read a lot of your posts recently and just wanted to say thanks as your and now your wife's experiences has been a great help to me and I'm sure plenty of others! Thanks for the note on the breathing - I shall remember that on Friday. I wish your wife a super speedy recovery and a bright and light future!

It's becoming painfully clear that I have much trouble writing a serious response to your posts, Jim. There's always something that sets me off--and I know that it has everything to do with my inner child being a 5th grader. If it has to do with poop, pee, toilet paper, farts or any associated minutiae, I feel compelled to comment and be funny.

That said, I will comment thus:

I hope your wife blows a hole in the bed very soon, and I hope it smells like flowers.

You and I both know (along with all the other post-oppers) that it will probably smell like warmed over year old yogurt with a side of rotting road squirrel, but Sandy need not know that until it happens. If the morphine doesn't knock her out, the post op fart most likely will.

Good times, brother, good times...

-Mike
