Default Shoe size?

So I am a big shoe freak. I mean I love shoes... but since I have been over weight I dont get to buy the shoes I like all that often unless I want to pay 2 or 3 times as much. I am wondering if anyone on this board had a significant change in show size after they lost thier weight? May seem like a stupid question.. and I have several more .... but this is the one that popped into my mind this morning... any resposes are appreciated.

Default Shoe Size

Hi Amandazon,

I think some people do have a change in shoe size. I am only 4 weeks post op so I am not sure what will happen to me this time, but in the past when I was able to lose weight on my own (about 80 pounds that I kept off for, oh, 10 minutes before gaining it all back plus some) my shoe size changed about a half to one whole size, depending on the style of the shoe. I think this will vary for everyone depending on body type and how you lose, but don't be suprised if you do find yourself in smaller sizes from head to toe! Losing weight is so much fun!!!

With me so far my size has not changed. I am a size 8 with a very narrow foot (the only part of me not fat). I have since lost 80 pounds and am still buying the same size. Good luck I too am a shoe freak.

I love shoes too. I really love boots only prob is that my calves are huge. I mean bigger than anyone I know. Anyone know how to make them smaller? Shoe size is still the same.

Default I do have twins!

Yes, I have twin boys, 19 months. They are loads of fun, lots of work, but lots of fun, too. And, they can already out run me. This surgery was as much for them as for me. I wanted to be able to play and run with them and be healthy. Plus, I think its important to set a good example and I NEVER, EVER want them to have to face the issues that I have had to deal with because of being obese.

Are your twins boys, girls, one of each...it's always nice to talk to a fellow twin-mom, especially one who has twins older than mine...encourages me to believe I might survive! HA HA

I have almost the same shoe size, but I don't need wides anymore . .. and so many more shoes are comfortable. I was only 125 pounds overweight - I know if you carry a bit more more, it may effect you differently. One person in my support group when from a 10 to a 9 . . . and she said a WHOLE world of shoes opened up for her!!
