I'm on the prowl for good broth now. I'm sick of sweet. Maybe I can add some unflavored protein to the broth.

But, I hear ya, loud and clear!
The New Whey Vials in orange were my choice too.

As for a good broth - I wasn't aware such a thing existed! LOL

Grab yourself some low sodium/health choice chicken noodle/chicken and rice soups and just put them through a strainer. I have 3 dogs and a husband so none of the strained bits went to waste. That soup tasted better than any broth I promise you. And when I was cleared for pureed food - I just buzzed the whole lot up. It was gorgeous.

I wasn't successful with the unflavoured protein powder. The one I tried left a bit of a smell that I couldn't get over.

Corrine,

You are a woman after my own heart. My dogs can't hardly wait for their bites of the "soup". Of course, they weren't fond of jello either!

We have a little soup shop in town. They were closed tonight, but tomorrow my errand of the day is to get some noodle soup to strain. I'm done with the broth.

Default thank you thank you - and learn from me....

I was dehydrated. I called my surgeon's office yesterday and spoke to the doctor and the NP and it turns out I was dehydrated. Today, I went in and got two bags of fluids and I am a new woman.

Kristi you are right - they said the same things you did - fluids, fluids, fluids then worry about the protein.

sigh.....I feel like an idiot but I was focusing on what to eat and not on drinking for a few days and look where it ended me - a purple bruise from the IV and two hours reading my magazines while watchin fluids drip in my arm.

Thanks everyone!

oh - by the way - today is 3 weeks post op and I am down 25 lbs!!!!
