Default My introduction, finally

Hi all! Im Liz. I had my rny 2/11/07 in Louisiana by Dr. Lavin. Things have been well so far. No nausea or vomiting, occasional gas (as to be expected). Currently on puree, n thickened liquids. I enjoy the gladiator protein mix from smoothie king, and am anxious to try the bullets, so any suggestions would be appreciated. Im still struggling a little with head hunger, I know im not hungry just miss the food. (I mean that is how I got here) I didnt realize until now how addicting food is. Anyway, I lost 17 pounds in my first 2 weeks, and havent lost any in a week. Something keeps telling me that it isnt going to work, and I will never be thin. lol. anyway thats about it for now. I enjoy reading each of your threads!

Keep your head up...welcome to the gang. It will work, we all go through those phases. Follow the rules and you will see results. There will be plateaus for everyone from time to time but if you keep working at it, the lbs will fall off. Promise! Welcome again!

W'yat, LA girl?! I work with two girls who had Dr. Lavin as their surgeon and they're doing fabulously well... both of them are tiny now, lol. You will hit plateaus throughout this journey, and then lose again... always watch how your clothes fit/body feels, and if you're doing the right things, you WILL LOSE THE WEIGHT. Where are you, by the way?

Good luck!

So happy for you! Liquids/purees were my easiest time. I have struggled with the second phase.

The things that keep me sane are tomato soup, cottage cheese, applesauce, and eggs.

I also struggle with the head stuff. I keep thinking I'm not losing weight when clearly I am. I guess it takes a while for our insides to catch up to what is going on with our bodies.

Another thing I think is probably normal is depression in the first month. I used to enjoy my meals with my family so much, and sitting down to dinner with them would nearly put me in tears. It was a strange feeling but I'm getting better with it.
