need to get on the good foot
Okay well as most of you know the honeymoon is over for me, alright Im fine with it. What Im not fine with is the 7 pounds I am up, not that it is too noticeable but I am on a mission to get back to 161.
Alright, I admit it, I am one heck of an emotional eater. I had some drama occur between me and my ex on Sunday night. Afterwards I went to 7-11 and ate a drumstick ice cream cone, yes without dumping, I didnt even read the label for sugar and fat content. I was so stressed my good thoughts about food went out the window. I finished that by the time I got home. After I put the boys to bed, I had 2 slices of pineapple cake! Yes again without dumping. Also I have been eating on the go, and this is no bueno!
So, I am here to confess and let you guys know that I want to be held accountable for making these crummy choices BUT I am going to lose those 7 pounds and go back to 161. SO i am going to check in here, confess my diet and excercise routine (if I do it) here until I reach 161 again. I chose to come here and let you all in on it, 'cuz I dont know how many more of ya might have this problem. Perhaps for any of you struggling with the last 20 pounds or those who are up a bit and want to get back down can join me. We can call each other and encourage us to get the gym, track, whatever and report our daily intake. Hopefully by the time EAST COUNTY support group rools around on the 13th I will have lost it. So here I go! Anybody else up for the challange? Lets see if we can move the scale during this 2 week challnage! Who's with me?
1. 60 oz of water everyday
2. 20 mins of excercise 4 days a week. However you choose to do it-and no one day of 60 mins does not count for 3 days worth of exercise
3. Record daily intake for the next 2 weeks
4. Post the day after you food journal for the previous day. I.E., I will post tomorrow morning what I ate today.
See ya at the finish line!

Me
I want to loose 6 pound in two weeks. That will put me to a total of 100 pounds in all. I want to loose more than that of course, but I want to be a centry for the next East County meeting, so I'm in with ya. Hey maybe if I have to write down what I eat I will be more inclined not to eat crap!

bridgett
bridgett,
i have about 5 to 7 pounds to drop for the same reason as you. i'm good 90 percent of the time, but then that 10 percent, i'm like you, an emotional eater. in fact just the other night i went to town on peanuts, chocolate covered almonds, biscottis. my surgey was 2 years ago. so since i've been at my goal, about 15 months ago, i'm up about 7 pounds. i'm still at a normal weight, but the point is 7 pounds will then go to 15. let's go for that 2 weeks. sounds great.

Go Bridget
I would love to joing the 7 lb. fight, but at this point I would probably get there in 2 days. I have been reading this forum for awhile and I am a new member but I just want to say that Bridget, you are an inspiration. Your transformation is amazing. This goes for all members on this board. You stories, advice and support are completely and most helpful. My support meetings are approx 160 miles away from where I am stationed right now. Obviously it is tough to get there. I guess so is the LIFELONG fight against the "obesity demon". This board really is an enormous help. Thank you all in advance. Bridget, keep fighting the good fight. Drama with the ex is something NOBODY needs, I have been there and at times ,still there. Luckly I have found, the path of least resistance in regards to the ex. Even if she is wrong, I will still agree. LESS STRESS! Again thank you, and good luck!

Hi Bridget:
I am so off track with what is going on that it isn't even funny. I will hit 5 mos postop on April 1st and have lost 91 lb so far. The inches seem to be going away quickly. But the thing is I have been invited to so many get togethers that the bad eating is what I now crave and I had that totally out of my system. So I need encouragement and help from you or anybody. I live in Casa de Oro, maybe not far from you? Kathryn

Hey, Supermodel Bridget:
I'm off track too, honey pie. It seemed that when we drove out of San Diego County, I left my brains at the county line. I spent the last eleven months trying to be the model WLS patient and then **POOF!** I just left it all behind! What's up with that?!?!!
During my two-week road trip, I ate all kinds of food that I hadn't eaten since before surgery! I craved charbroiled hamburgers with thousand island dressing and even had a few french fries with ketchup. While riding in the car, I went to snack HELL and had Cheez-Its (albeit reduced fat), plain pretzels, low-fat pastry twists, and honey-roasted peanuts. I had a fast-food apple pie and even a minature cream puff! None of it...let me say that again...NONE of it made me dump!! What a tragedy! Luckily, I didn't open the carbonated soda door or the alcohol bin. Otherwise, it would have been a complete fiasco.
Bottom Line: I gained two pounds in the last 16 days. It was such a horrible shock to see the scale go up instead of down!
Now that I'm back home, back at work, and back to reality, I really need to get my S**T together and back on track. This is the mantra I need:
1. Forty-five to fifty minutes of exercise, three to four days a week. (I'm already back on track with my walking, thanks to Melanie!)
2. No more than 1,800 calories a day. (I didn't keep track while I was gone)
3. Increase water intake. (This is hard for me)
4. Record daily intake. (I normally record on FitDay every day)
So...I'm with ya, girlfriend. Let's do it!

Yesterday's food
OK here is what I ate.
Breakfast: 1/2 bagel with peanut butter
Snack: Protein bar
Lunch: Half of a smart one's turkey & mashed potatoes lunch
snack: some baked ritz crackers about 10
Dinner: Some chicken soup. Maybe about 1/3 cup of the soup.
Snack Reduced Fat Tristkets, and a piece of cheese
Didn't drink any water yesterday, because we were out at work, and that is where I drink most of my water. I did have 33.80 ounces of Crystal Light and a few sips of water at home. No working out for me yesterday. I got my nails done, and got my hair cut (chopped), so by the time I was done with that it was 8:30pm. Then I went to Albertson's got some stuff for breakfast more triskets (they are my weakness right now), and bought Isaiah some candy. I also gave him the bag of assorted Easter candy that someone gave me so that there would be no temptaions of eating any of it. I gotta get my butt to the gym. I am making a promise to myself and to you guys that I will go tonight, and make up for last night as well.
