Default Went to the ER last night

Well I went to the ER last night. I had my bypass on Thursday and yesterday I was experiencing hypoglycemia. The docs wanted me on clear sugar free liquids for 1 week but I guess my body can't tolerate no sugar. We had called the doc earlier in the day and he said to drink 1 oz of orange juice at every episode but it never seemed to help fully. By the time I got to the ER I was confused, my speech slurred and I was staggering. They pushed IV dextrose and hung a bag of dextrose fluids. I felt better (well at least I could talk normal) but I still don't feel my mental state is at full capacity. I set my alarm to get up every couple of hours to drink juice so I don't get that low and I am to call the doctor in the morning to see what the next step is. I am hoping they will start me on thin purees or something.

Wish me luck

Jessica
