Default Feels like it's "stuck" in my chest

I had a spoonful of tuna fish and a spoon full of cottage cheese this morning (didn't finish it) and after only a couple bites I felt a little pressure so I took a break and felt better and then started again bc I was trying to get down all my meds. Well the pressure feeling came back so I stopped eating and then it just kept getting worse and I've been in pain for like an hour now. I thought I was going to throw up but all that comes out is spit/saliva and I can't really swallow so I've just been spitting it all out. It's the strangest thing, but it really feels like I have food stuck in the middle of my chest. Any advice?

Nevermind, I finally threw up after I posted this. Geez, took long enough

I haven't thrown up in 12 years, I always joke that my body forgot how, but it surely didn't That was awful... I do feel better now though. I wonder what happened? I've been eating those items for a couple weeks now

I haven't had good luck with Tuna. It was the first thing I "lost" and I haven't tried it again. But, as I have learned here, something that works one day may not work again. Glad you're feeling better!!

Hi Katie-
I was just curious-did you eat too fast or take too big of bites? I will just start on pureed foods tomorrow and am a little scared to eat anything because of that.

Thanks! My doctor recommended it for my "first" food after my liquid stage, I went with cottage cheese instead and was fine. So I tried the tuna fish a couple days later and I've been fine eating it for almost 3 weeks now, but I don't think I'll be eating it anymore!

I still feel a little pressure in my chest and now I'm scared to drink which is bad. I know I need to but I haven't been able to make myself yet

Jules- I guess that's a possibility but I try really hard to go slow and take TEENY tip of my utensil bites. It's hard to tell what caused it...

Goodluck with the purees tomorrow! I did cottage cheese first and was good. I've also done hummus, scallops and shrimp (not pureed just chewed really well), cheese, split pea soup, yogurt, and imitation crab meat with lite mayo. I haven't been sick until today and I've been doing purees for 3 weeks.

Thanks for the food ideas. I knew I would try yogurt and cottage cheese, but kind of clueless as to what else I should try. thanks!
Hope you feel better!

Make sure you drink and try something different for food. Could just be a pissy pouch episode. They happen and you deal with it. I have that happen usually with chicken that is dry. I sit there and gag and froth and just feel like crap and end up forcing myself to throw up.

If you start not keeping anything down call your doc asap because that is a stricture and it's not something to mess around with.

Yep, sounds like you may have eaten a little too fast. That's exactly what happens to me when I do - foamies, tight chested etc.

Glad you're feeling a little better but please DO drink something!

Katie, keep an eye on things...because that's exactly how I started out before I pretty much couldn't keep anything down without getting that awful feeling in my chest...and it turned out to be a stricture.
