Default 2 Weeks out....

Ok i'm 2 weeks out and only lost 9 pounds. I admit i dont eat just pureed food I really never knew how bad a food addict i was/am so i'm wondering is that the problem? I see alot of you lost like 20 pounds in 2 weeks. My doc said today that 9 is average. Whatever i know it wont "fall" off but what should i be doing more of and less of? Thanks guys/gals

Sweetheart - I know people who came home from hospital weighing several pounds more than when they went in! You are pumped full of liquids and Lord knows what else during your stay.

For what it's worth, at my first post-op visit at 2 weeks and 1 day, I had lost 8lb.

It's important at this stage to follow your surgeons instructions to the letter. Hang in there, it does get better.

Are you exercising? I've found that at least walking regularly has been important in the weight coming off. At first, I had a hard time walking, as I had a lot of knee pain. But in the past week, my knee pain has finally started subsiding and I can move a lot better. Also, follow your doctor's food/meal requirements and be sure protein is eaten first before anything else. I had my surgery 5 weeks ago and was very careful to follow my doctor's instructions. Good luck with your weight loss journey. There are a lot of people on this forum with lots of good advice!

Smile Take you time

Hello

I read your email andI thought like you I think we forget that the weight didnt come on over night yet we have these ops and think it will come of over night.

I have had my band now for 4 months and for me the walking is the most important aspect of my weight loss.

I havent been well and have slowed the walking down now and my weight loss has slowed down alot.

it will happen in time.

thinking of you Dianne

Deborah,

I wouldn't worry about the crackers and potatoes...if you can tolerate it...IMO those things are not preventing you from losing weight quicker. Your body is recovering from major surgery. It takes months for your body to be really healed. You have lots of fluids inside of you...your body is in recovery mode...its figuring out what to do with no more fat and sugar coming in..no more caffeine coming in...I had an awful time the first few weeks...first few months actually...you're doing fine. Just try and stick to your diet as presecribed, the best that you can. It will come off...believe me. Don't be concerned with the weight loss. Just be concerned with healing.
