Default My first major wows!

Hi there, I have had my first major wows. I think this whole process happened so fast that I was numb for the first few wow's.

1. I came across a photo my 6 year old took of me on my camera phone. It was taken from behind and I was blow drying my hair at the time.. I looked at this photo and thought, who the hell is this and why is she wearing my clothes. Then realized it was me and baby do I look gorgeous from behind . Well I know I have not even reached onderland but the difference to befores are remarkable. I get complimented on a daily basis and can't manage - oh thank you. Before I can stop myself I blunder: Yes I do look great don't I... now I've never been vain so this is a brand new experience..

2. I went into a clothing store to buy the girls some new clothes. This is a store known for it's small sizing( a big size on small size etc) and found a size 18 ( at my biggest I was shopping in the size 26 shops) and thought ok- maybe need to come to earth a bit- I tried it on and IT FIT ME!!! Oh what a wonderful feeling I did not buy it because it was ugly ( new experience because I would usually buy stuff that fit me and not even think about what I look like in it)

3. MAJOR WOW. My 6 year old weighs 18 kg. I now weigh my old weight minus her weight. So I have lost a child in weight. This is about what I picked up in my pregnancy. So now I have to lose the 12 year old still - about 58 kg and then we are too thin! Ha.

My husband ( a health fanatic) had a favourite saying- why don't you get up off your lazy ass and do something- do you think you can just lose weight by lying here... My current answer: Well yes, I can.....

I also lost 2 kg from the 24th of Dec to the 1st of Jan- a major breakthrough.
Also- went to my inlaws on the 31st for the traditional lunch. There was nothing on the lunchtable I could eat... but it did not bother me.... I drank my water. Tasted the gammon and ate a litchi.... It's a wild wild world we live in Master Jack.

BTW- I am now smaller than most of the people in my team and have 3 black bags full of clothes I can no longer wear without looking shabby.

Celeste! Great observations on the changes in your body! I love reading these "WOWS" --- they're so inspirational to me!

Me? I have a closet full of stuff that does not fit me anymore (I'm too big)... I can't wait to start wearing it again, and then putting it in the Goodwill pile when they become too large.... emptying out my closet to make room for new stuff...

I love it when there are WOW moments! Congratulations on yours. I'm looking forward to mine - I'm only 5 weeks post op, so I've got a bit to go yet. I've had one WOW moment - my jeans had become tight on me pre op, but now I put them on and, although they aren't falling off yet, they are noticeably looser around the waist and through the hips - yippee!!!!

Smile Sure is FUN!

I fully enjoyed emptying my closet this weekend and getting rid of anything larger than a size 18. I had 3 storage boxes with sizes M/L to size 16 that I was able to unpack and have a whole new wardrobe. Some items that I unpacked were brand new and still had tags on them. Sure glad I saved them. If I go below size 14, I'll be screwed as far as pants/slacks go.

I'm looking forward to the day when I can go shop for new clothes in new sizes NOT in the plus size department. I've been heavy for so long, I had already gotten rid of my old too small clothes long ago. I am going to keep one pair of my "big pants" just to remind me where I don't want to return to.

Chelle1060, my old clothes have always been roomy ( space to grow you know) so when I started losing weight the roomy ness just looked bad.

I am 40lbs down now and can see a difference in my clothes / my body shape/ everything.

I am not buying any clothes at present but adjusting the old ones ( untill it looks ridiculous) or weiring old stuff and a friend gave me a bag of clothes. I work in a corporate environment so looking good all the time is expected. I now have 5 outfits and have to remember when I wore them!

I am not complaining!
