Default nightmares after gastric bypass surgery??

Has anyone one else had terrible nightmares after gastric bypass surgery? I am 8 weeks post op and they are getting worse! At first they were just vivid. I woke up disoriented because they seemed so real. Now they are not only that but downright terrifying. I'm going to talk to shrink soon about them. I was just wondering if anyone else had the same experience.

Otherwise I am doing really well physically recovering from surgery and loosing and all. I get over tired after working 12 hour shifts, but that seems pretty normal.

Thanks all!

Cool

Hi Kit60,

I'm new, was surfing and saw your post...I had nightmares too...surgery on Dec 2. It was so weird but they seem to have subsided. I hit my husband the other night ...very weird indeed.

I was still on some of the meds and wrote it off to that...are you on anything?

Not on any new meds and off of most of the old ones. That was the first thing I thought of too.

You hit your husband? That must have been some nightmare. LOL

I had nightmares, but only while taking the loritab pain medicine. There were some really strange dreams during that time. Glad they went away when the medicine did!

I know I did. I was having terrible nightmares -- even ones about eating foods I shouldn't. I think it was a chemical thing ... or the medicine I was on.

FYI, though -- it will get better. Hang in there!

I think I was trying to deflect something and he was too close. It woke me up when he said "Hey!" LOL
