Default WOW Moment - SHOCKING Announcement!

I have to preface the WOW moment, which has to do with my DH, by saying that my DH is not a gusher nor is he a comlimenter. He is, however, my chief cheerleader.

Now, here was the dialog that occurred that resulted in the WOW moment:

ME: Glen, I want you to tell me the truth - I want to know how I look to other people. So put your mind in the perspective of someone just meeting me, and tell me this: Do I look like a THIN person, or do I look like someone who could lose 10 lbs?

DH: <being thoughtful, not saying anything at first, and then...> If you were 30 I would say you could lose another 10 lbs. You aren't 30, Claire, you are THIN ENOUGH!

Oh my gosh! This from the man who once said he could sit a mug of coffee on my A$$ while I was standing! He said that of course, after I had lost a lot of weight, and I thought it was very funny at the time (he wouldn't have said it in a hurtful way pre-op).

Hearing "THIN ENOUGH" coming out of HIS mouth was the biggest WOW moment I have had regarding weight loss through this journey!

I will go forth and lose the 6 lbs left to lose. I don't care how long it takes, but I will lose it. It's unfinished business, and I want to go to completion.

But knowing I have reached "thin enough" for my husband is a definite WOW for meeeeeee!!!!!!

That is so awesome! I get all gushy inside when my hubby tells me I look great, even after only losing 50 lbs.

Your husband is quite diplomatic... From the photos I've seen of you Claire, I'd never know you were once heavy --- I think you look AMAZING!!!

Katie, I've done a combined picture of before and after in my signature line. I was FAT, no question about it. And I still think I'm going to see that person in the mirror, not the person in the after picture.

Hearing that you would never know I had a weight problem is such a compliment, Katie. HOWEVER, I will have to show you my GAWJUS excess skin hanging from me that I try my best to hide!!! LOL

Claire....that is awesome! I have to remind myself too that I am 43. I guess because I have always been heavy I get upset feeling I "could lose 10 lbs". Then I look around the room in my normal life situations and most 40 somethings aren't stick thin......duh.

That's probably one of THE best WOW's - ever.

Claire ......... this surgery seems to have done more for you than just help you lose weight. I've read a few of your recent threads/posts and I'm amazed at your positive attitude and the feeling of control that you now seem to have in your life.

You are coming over as a confident person who knows exactly what they want out of life. That is my goal too.

I admire you - more than you realise.

Marty, how right you are!

Lisa, Glen enjoyed your kiss!

And Corrine, you bring me to my knees in tears.

Thank you all for the good wishes and support and love.

Two things come to mind - look out, I'm waxing nostalgic this evening! My husband had skin cancer surgery today so I am emotionally recovering from that.........

Corrine, about being positive, we all have choices. We can choose this path or that path. We can eat this or that. We can focus on this or that. I have chosen the positive path, on purpose, consciously. It is the easiet path, the least exhausting, the better path for me. It has SUCCESS written all ove rit.

Many people think I have had it so easy, such a "honky donky" life. Far from it. My life has been as most of yours have been - the good and the bad, and a lot of bad. I had a crummy childhood. I am in my third marriage. You know that hurts - it still hurts. My current marriage has not always been as truly wonderful as it is now - we had to work at it.

I say all of this to be totally real with you, as real as I am when I post my positive posts. I have morphed into a new person in many ways, a confident and happy person, even in the face of my child's breast cancer. I do believe the cup is half empty or it is full. And I am determined to live my life with my cup as full as possible.

No, Corrine, it hasn't all been weight loss, but clearly losing the weight has been a huge step toward finding the authentic me, the real me, warts and all!

We make choices........
