Default Chewable Vitamins.....

Today I find irony....

Chewable childrens vitamins.

When I was four, I over dosed on these things. It is really one of my first childhood memories. I had climbed from a chair to the counter to the top of the refridgerator and got the Flinstone vitamins with iron. I got the childproof cap off and ate the whole bottle. I remember getting rushed to Palomar Hospital in the back of my parents station wagon. I had eaten the whole bottle. I had my stomach pumped and spent my night in a cage ( a crib with a net over it so I wouldn't climb out.) After that episode I don't believe that my parents ever bought the vitamins for me.

Now here I am years later depending on these things. They do not taste as good as I remember.

Believe me I have no intention of going back to the hospital and spending another night in the cage.

Talking The Circle of Life

Hi Melanie,

Thanks for sharing your delightful vitamin story. You are blessed with the gift of humor that enables you to laugh at the ironies in your life.

Hugs...to the little girl inside of you, who is still trapped in the "cage" at Palomar Hospital.

Bravo...to the adult Melanie, who has come full circle and is now in charge of her own vitamins.

Lei

What a memory! If you think that's bad-my mother ate an entire box of the chocolate ex-lax! She was sick as a dog for a week and she never liked chocolate again!
