Default Vitamin D

Dorene and I are doing great since surgery. We go to our family doc once a month and she adds to the list of things to be tested that our surgeon requires in our blood tests. Well our family doc called yesterday and told us we needed to take 50000 Units of Vitamin D every week for a month. What is that all about? Our family doc is out for surgery.
A couple of WOW things Dorene is off all her meds and is no longer a diabetic according to our Doctors. She is in size 14 pants and medium shirts. I'm off all meds except 10mg of high blood pressure meds and I am in 36 pants and XL shirts. I haven't wore 36 pants since Junior High School.

Thank You
Jim and Dorene

its good to get an update from you!

I had to take vitamin D the same dose/time frame prior to surgery. My doc said its common in this area because of the lack of sun. Said that most people are deficient around here in the winter. no worries..

Gratz on all your accomplishments

Congrats both of you. I also took vitamin D along with my magnesium and calcium...helps absorb the vitamins better. Guess it can't hurt any!

Ok, time for new pictures!

Hey guys! Glad to hear you are both doing so well. I haven't ever had anyone tell me to take anything other than what I do...which is a Bariatric Multivitamin twice a day, calcium twice a day, and a sublingual B12 once a day...that's it. I've never had a problem w/labs. I will be doing my year check up soon, so we'll see how it goes! I had hoped to be smaller by now, but until I give up the Starbucks and a few other things, I will be hanging out in the 150's! I am really going to make an effort to stop doing bad things and get into the 140's soon!!!! Perhaps even the 130's!!! I'll keep you posted!!! Hope to see you soon! Do you still go to the support group meetings?

HI Jim & Dorene!

You two are so dang CUTE!!!

Vitamin D... I think the medical world just discovered it or something... all of a sudden, I know so many people who are on supplements... Me & my hubby included...

You guys are doing great - overcoming so many previous problems! You have to be thrilled beyond belief! I love hearing from you (and love your Avatar... awwww)!

I had to take vit D pre-op, and then he had me stop it. Well, the last round of blood tests had me add it back so now I'm taking it once a week at least until my next round of blood tests in December. Congrats on your success! You guys are doing awesome!
