Talking New member of loser's bench!

Hi everyone,

I just got home from the hosptial. Surgery on Monday went very well. Before I went into the surgery, my surgeon informed me that he saw a mass on my CT scan on my adrenal gland. He's not sure what it is, but gave me the choice if I wanted to continue or not. After hearing all his thoughts, I decided to go ahead with my WLS and I'll see my PCP soon to get a full work up on that strange mass.

So, yay, Loser's Bench! Scoot on over, everyone! I'm happy to be here. Well, actually, I'm pretty miserable at the moment -- the drive home was rough! 2 hours of painful bumping of the big truck I was riding in over the poorly cared for California freeways. Ouchie! I'm currently having equal pain from gas pressure and from incision sites. Think I'm going to try and take a nap in a moment. I also just wanted to add that staying at the Kaiser in Fremont for 2 full days was much nicer than staying at Kaiser Sacramento. I had a private room, nice nurses, and, mostly, private room. But I'm sure glad to be home now. My kitties missed me, and I missed them and my bed!

Wow, thanks for all of the support! You guys are so awesome. I had an absolutely awful night last night -- extreme gas pain, a lot of abdomen pain, and dry heaves at least twice every hour. Heaving so bad, I felt like I was gonna tear something. I was up at 3 am, scared to go back to bed and waiting to shuffle back to the bathroom when I decided to search ThinnerTimes for advice given about dry heaving in the past. I also saw all the responses to my post and at that moment, so miserable, it really touched me and made me tear up. So, thank you thank you thank you.

The gas pain is much better this morning and I haven't dry heaved since about 3:30am. I have a message in to my surgeon to request a different pain med since this Tylenol with codeine is not even touching my pain. My tummy feels like Mike Tyson beat on me with brass knuckles, but overall, I'm feeling not too bad. I'm pretty cheerful, considering. It possibly helps that I stepped on the scale this morning and was already down several pounds I'm getting in lots of liquids and slowly finding foods that don't make me sick to think about eating -- applesauce = yum! And both of my brands of protein shakes are good to my pouch, too. So I'm getting my supplements, protein, water, now I just need to eat actual food, LOL!
