I am new to the group but was wondering if anyone else out there had this happen to them. I am 8 weeks out from surgery (12/27/04) and in the past week noticed a lump on my neck. I went to the doctor and she seems to think it is on my thyroid. I am going for an ultrasound on Tuesday. Now of course I am wondering if this is just a coincidence that I developed this lump after surgery or if it may have anything to do with side effects of surgery. Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this...I've lost 40 lbs. so far but in the past week the scale has stopped...very frustrating!

I just had the same thing happen to me. I went in for a double ear infection and the ENT felt my throat and found a lump on my thyroid too. I had the ultrasound done and the results came back that I had a lump, but it wasn't big enough to worry about. He told me that we should continue to check it just to make sure it doesn't grow. With the weight loss, I'm sure we'll all start feeling a lot of little bumps here and there we never knew we had. I'm sure you will be just fine too. Let us know.

Hey there, I had my surgery 12-27 also!!

I don't have a lump on my thyroid, but I have noticed other lumps and bumps. So, I think, like Ireala, have it checked out but don't worry.

Congatulations on you 40 pounds. I was stuck there too, than this week I lost 6 so far!! Go figure???
