Talking One year ago...

One year ago I went skiing with my family for spring break. At this time, I just had my consult with Kelly, had my coveted Blue Binder and was set on getting all the tests done and soon. I weighed in at 256 and was going skiing in my husbands 2XL ski pants and 3X womens jacket. I huffed and I puffed up every step and stair. I was miserable, but I was skiing/snow sliding with my kids!

What a difference a year makes and oh, GBS! Down 85+ pounds and skiing better than ever before. I'm so thankful every day for GBS, but times like this are very emotional in that I can see glimpes of my former self and life. It's the best feeling in the world and very hard to put into words.

Lift tickets $50, cost of food per day $150, cost of house $650, skiing beside your kids down a run - PRICELESS!

How awesome! It had to have felt great this year, and at the same time, I can see how it would also be a bit uncomfortable. Heck, just one year a go and things were so different! I wonder how different NEXT year will be from this year? Every tomorrow is something to look forward to for us now...and today is even better!

I've never even allowed myself to consider skiing...hmnn...now you have me thinking!

Congratulations, again!

Default Kelly, Mike, Dara, and Dale,

Thank you so much!

Kelly, you're right, I am dancing at every opportunity. There was music playing at the lodge that you could hear on the slopes and I couldn't stop moving my body. It's been a long time since I felt like doing that!

Mike, I hope you'll try every new thought that comes to your mind, because you can do it! Thank you for your support.

Dara, What a nice compliment! My mother used to call me sunshine every morning when she woke me up. Thanks for bringing me back!

Dale, Thank you! It's so weird to think that one year ago how different my life was and how unhappy and sad I was, but now, it's different inside my head. My life around me has not changed, but I have done something that has changed me for the better! I am the happiest I've been in about 9 years!

Thanks to every single person on this forum for your support! I learn something new every day being with you all! THANK YOU with the whole of my heart.

There's so much snow this year, so skiing is great! Isn't it fun to wear the tight, little jumpsuit? I feel so aerodynamic going down the slopes. You feel so much more in tuned with life blazing around up in the sky. I'm so with you up there...it's just priceless to enjoy such an experience.

Kim, It is messages like this that help those like me solidify our decisions. Thanks for sharing that. I really want to be able to do the things I used to and know are almost impossible now. It is great to hear positive results.

Default Marie,

AKA, snowbunny! I'm totally with you too! It's just so much easier to move and it's a completely freeing experience! I think I looked really good in my size 14 jumpsuit!

Let's go up for the day sometime together. Maybe we can get all those that want to learn or try (Yes, Mike, I'm talking about you and Emmy) to come up with us.
