Default Vitamins Post-OP

Just curious, Do all of you use bariatric type vitamins? Or do you just use like s/f regular chewable, like flinstones, or something?
About how much would you say you spend a month on all your vitamins. For ppl who buy bariatric ones, and for ppl who dont.
I was told to look at about $70 a month from (Bariatric Advantage), but my uncle does not take the bariatric vitamins, and all his blood work comes back A-OK. So just wondering if i have to use them. I probably will just for the first couple of months, since i know for sure they absorb, but the more out i get i may switch. So i was just wondering if it would save any $$ down the road or not.

Default Vitamins

IT is not necessary to spend a fortune on vitamins. I buy my vitamins at Target and Trader Joes. I take the Target Brand PreNatal (it is Pharmacutical Grade and disolves in 60 min or less) it is 6.99 for 250. I also buy my Calcuim Citrate at either Target or Costco. Again I buy the Generic for about 7.99 for 500. I buy my b-12 at Trader Joes because its the only place I have found that has the sublingual. It is 4.99. When I was newer preop I was anemic and had to take iron suppliments. I also got the generic at Target.

I am 18 months out, pregnant and have never had any low blood levels. Except iron in the beginning before I started taking my suppliments.

So as you can see, You don't need to spend a fortune, you just need to take them religously!

Mary and Pokey,

I found the sub lingual B-12 at the vitamin store for 5 or 6 buck I don't remember but they were running a special were members buy on get on free. Memebership is free. They run buy one get one free's all the time. It is worth looking into.

Kelly,

I see that you live in Linda Vista. But I have seen these vitamin stores all over the place in the east county. Parkway Plaza, Grossmont Center a bunch of places. It is called the vitamin store and they are similar to GNC only better prices.

Kelly,

If you in La Mesa you might want to go to grossmont center, you can see the vitamin store from the hospital side.

Good luck and happy shopping.

Kelly and anyone else who is listening,

I made a mistake on the name of the vitamin place. The name is vitamin world. They have a website vitaminworld.com I was just there this morning after my mall walking and I bought some sugar free muffin mixes and pancake mixes. I just this store. The manager told me that they have one in chula vista, La mesa, el Cajon and yes even escondio. But he said the best way to find the store is via the website.

Happy shopping
