Default Blood test questions

Hi all

I went for my 9 month blood tests and was told something that I had not heard before. As the tech was drawing my blood she asked if I had taken vitamins in the last three days. She told me that my results would not be accurate and I should stop taking them before my next test. Anyone else heard of this???What does your Dr. suggest???

Thanks

Jennifer

Some people are like a Slinky ... not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you shove them down the stairs.

Nope - my doctor says to take all medications, even vitamins, up to and including the morning of the test. No food, but I can take my meds with water.

I have heard that if you have a B12 SHOT, it will skew the results, but not the oral vitamins.???

It is true that it "skews" the results...but for us it is ok. We want to know what our blood levels are doing with the supplements. The main thing is to be consistant for every blood draw. HTH
