Default Pouch Rules

Wow! Thanks Pam, that was a great link. I put it in my favorites. I really needed that. I have been getting a little ornery on my rules. Mostly because the protein doesnt agree with me that well, so I prefer my vegies and fruits. But that site really does a great job of clarifying the reasons, risks, successes and potential for failure. I think the thing I am doing the worst that I just have to get myself unders control is the drinking after eating. All my life I have been a "soothing drink" drinker after a meal. Mostly hot tea, maybe coffee. It is such a habit. And I don't feel happy after I eat unless I can enjoy my hot drink. According to this site, there are very strict timing rules and failure implications with drinking after eating. I guess I knew that but didnt want to completely admit it. Thanks again, this will help me re-evaluate my current habits and make sure I am on track. Great information!

What I dont understand about these *pouch* rules, is that it says to drink as fast as you can to fill your pouch...if we are supposed to sip...just how fast do we sip, anyways.

Thumbs up Pamela

Maybe I am not the right person to address this. I did sip in the beginning, but now I just drink regularly. Not like I did before surgery probably, but normally I think. I don't guzzle or gulp things down, but I drink in a steady down stream flow. If that makes any sense at all. Had I just sipped here and there, I would have been very dehydrated. Oh well, everyone is different.

I hope you get the answer you need. I just know what works for me. I try and water load or iced tea load before my meals so I don't eat so much.

Thanks so much Christina, cause I havent been able to get all my water in, with this sip sip sip stuff But Ive been scared to drink more than a couple sips at a time. I hope you guys all realize how lucky you are to have gone to a place that has given you so much help. I got none. Oh sure, I got the Holy Bible for WLS... but mine says nothing about what to do. Just what to eat and not eat during the first few weeks. Ive gotten SO MUCH information right here!!! So Thanks All
