Default Officially losing!

Well, I am officially on the post op side! I had surgery 7/31 and came home yesterday. I had a small complication that kept me in the hospital one extra day. I am home and am struggling to fit in all the water, protien, etc. I don't feel exceptionally bad but I don't feel great. I no longer need pain meds but I am having a lot of diarrhea and the sounds my stomach makes are appalling. I am hoping this gets slightly easier or may end up with buyer's remorse. I don't feel like eating/drinking anything. At any rate, I am glad to report that I am on the losing side.

Congratulations!!!! Take it easy these next few days and try to sip as much as you can; I used to carry my cup everywhere. Also keep posting...this is the best place to come to when you have news, concerns or are feeling sad. I know it has always worked for me.

I had an Ilius (sp????), a paralyzed bowel. It didn't do it's job and allow stuff to move through. They noticed it on my upper GI post op when they were checking for leaks. I had to stay on water and ice chips only until the last day when the advanced my diet to clears. It wasn't so bad but it would have been better to be in my own bed. Thanks for asking.

Reagan..

It does get better! I'm five weeks out and you'll soon be getting your appetite back...just give yourself some time!

On the "lighter" side...I feel like the weight is just dropping off me and you will too..just give it a couple of weeks!
