Talking I can't believe it. . .

i'm almost 2wks out of surgery!!! i don't know if you all remember me. i had surgery on 2/1 same as tara. i didn't find out i was approved until 2:45p the day before surgery.

well, everything went as smooth as silk. i have been staying at my parents house up until today. things are going extremely well. i over ate once and think i dumped(diareah and exhausted). i don't feel "stuffed" like i thought i would though. my mind is trying to catch up w/my body right now. i'm realizing how many times i ate out of habit. that mind set is still there but it's so much easier to pass things up.

one question i have is what is the average rate of weight loss per week. i lost 6lbs the first week but was kind of disapointed. i've heard people losing 20lbs in the first 2wks, etc. any info would be appreciated.

well, i just wanted to check in. i've gotta get unpacked from parent's house!

Everyone's different, so no worries! Also, guys lose the weight much more quickly than the ladies (typically), so give yourself some time. It's not a sprint, it's a marathon! The first 6 months is the first part of the marathon. That's when you really want to maximize all of the pouch rules, no snacking rules, protein first, exercise, yada yada yada.

Also, measure yourself from time to time. You may not lose a lot of weight, but your clothes will fit better cuz you're losing inches.

My first 5 weeks I lost 65 pounds. That's crazy and kinda scary, actually. I was worried that I was going to keep up that pace, and by 6 months I'd be a waif-like skeleton creature, emaciated and hollow cheeked. Guess what!? Yeah..it didn't happen.

Stay strong!

thanks for the info and encouragement, mike.

another question i have is . . . do you eat until you feel satisfied or do you eat a certain amount(ie, 2tbsp)? i want to make sure i'm getting enough but i'm so scared of stretching my pouch. does anyone know if it takes much to stretch the pouch out. like if my sips of water are too large will that do it?

sorry, just so much new stuff. i wanna make sure i get it all right.

Amy,

I am 7 weeks out and it seems pouches are finicky.

Sometimes I can eat a 1/2 cup of food like chili or soup, and then other times only one or 2 bites. Especially if the food is dense.

It is very much trial and error and you will need to listen to your body.

Rain

Congrats on your journey!!
