Default No plastics for me...

I'm down more than a hundred pounds, and have the "bat wings" to prove it, along with the "melted candle" look around the middle, and floppy thighs.

But my partner (of 30 happy years) says I look fine just as I am - and I don't need to impress anyone else. My days of deliberate sun exposure are over and done with, so I don't need to look like anything special with my shirt off.

The body may be imperfect, but it feels so much better than the old bloated whale feeling! It feels good not only to do things that require some exertion, but even just getting up out of a chair, walking to the water cooler, and everyday simple things just feel good.

It feels good to be in my own body now - and I haven't had that feeling in so long I can't remember when it last was .... some time way back in the previous century!

So, I'll be noble and forego the plastic surgery route - I can't afford it anyhow - but if I got a hernia, and they could repair it and do a tummy tuck at the same time, I'd be temptable!

Meanwhile, I'm just more glad every day that I had this surgery. There are occasional days when I feel mildly annoyed that I can't "chow down" like I used to, but I get over that pretty quickly.

Thumbs up Phil

I am so happy for your success!! You seem to be doing great.. love the "melted candle look" .. that's such a great visual about how our bellies look now.. lol (not to mention other areas.. thighs and such)

I am so glad that your partner is so supportive and loves you just how you are. Plastic surgery is not for everyone.

I am not getting my tummy done until after I have kids.. it's just not safe to conceive after you've had a tummy tuck. However, for me that is the route in which I really want to go. Although I'll be married to a wonderful man who loves me unconditionally.. with the saggy thighs, arms and breasts and the belly that looks like a melted candle.. (I love that line!!) I want it for myself to feel as if my whole process is complete. But again it is a personal decision, just like having WLS. We're all individuals.. I support you 110% Phil.. and admire you for all you have accomplished!!

You rock!!

Get down Phil!
Keep it up.

Remember, PS is just like the GBP...it may not be for everyone.

Thanks, Christina! You rock yourself, too!

And thanks to all the rest of you, too!

Christina - you're wise to delay your PS until after done bearing children... just maybe wait a couple of years after you think you're done, in case you change your mind! And if I were your age, I'd probably be more interested in dong the PS route. At this stage, the heck with it!

You're too cute for words! I am seeing my Primary Care Physician on Thursday to get the referral process started for plastic surgery on other areas than my belly. I am requesting it on my breasts and my arms for sure, and possibly my thighs.. depending on how he feels about it. The reason is because of chronic back pain and some yucky rashes that have developed in those areas. However, for the tummy tuck or full body lift, that will have to wait. It is just not safe to do it now and have kids later. Therefore, I am chosing to deal with the melted candle on my tummy for now..
