I don't know anything about the meds but I am 8 months post op and I am finding that I too am having a very hard time with cravings and worrying about eating too much.
I don't have any dumping issues or any problems with any food whatsoever.
I think we all worry that we will put the weight back on. What I am doing is keeping an eye on my weight. I still want to lose a bit more weight but as long as I don't gain any I try and congratulate myself.
I keep reminding myself of how I used to be able to stick to a diet for at least a month pre surgery and if I put on 2 pounds then I go right back to basics and "stick to it" because I know that I can lose 2 pounds a lot easier than losing 100 pounds.
I found that all I need to do is have 3 or 4 days where I eat nothing but protein (no carbs at all) and keep my water up and I drop those 2 pounds right away. And the way I see it 3 or 4 days of a "diet" is really easy compared to all the years I tried to stick to carrots and broiled chicken for months on end.
I don't know if this will help you. But I guess I just wanted to say that you are not alone.
I am sure that the meds do make you more hungry but protein fills us up and carbs make us crave more. Even before surgery I found I was able to stick to the Atkins diet much longer than other diets. I am not advocating the Atkins diet (especially the high fat) only saying that maybe every so often try the all protein thing for a few days.
Most of all keep reminding yourself of how well you have done so far.
Sorry this was such a long post
Best of luck
Laurie
