Default such a silly, silly girl

Yesterday I took my first dance class in twenty+ years. It was so awesome.
I used to dance all the time, for years and years. I remembered the steps pretty well to, step-ball-step, grapevine, cha-cha..........I used to perform with my dance troupe and in earlier years my big ambition was to be a dancer in a video on MTV{my parent's were less than thrilled, with this career goal }

Imagine how surprised I was when I got into the car after the class and just started crying....it was like a floodgate opened. I don't know what happened, but through-out the whole day yesterday whenever I thought about the dance class, I would well up with tears. I think that subconsciously I never thought I would dance again

What a great day and now that I've started, there is no stopping the dancer in me.

That is awesome! My daughter is a dance major in college and hopes to dance professionally. I think "once a dancer, always a dancer" no matter how long it's been!

That is awesome! I am inching toward stepping back in to a dance class, too. I took tap and jazz from the time I was 5 until 10th grade. I only quit because I was so busy with school and being in marching band and concert band. I always loved music, performing it and dancing to it. Well, after I quit dancing was when I started getting really big and I just kept getting bigger! Now that I am shrinking, I want to get back in to a dance class, but it will probably just be something that they offer at the gym. With the monthly fee to the gym, I can't afford to pay for a dance class in addition to that. Anyway, good luck to you and I completely understand the tears! It's an awesome accomplishment!

Default Oh man

That is the most beautiful story - I love it. I can relate in an opposite way - I have ALWAYS wanted to dance but was never built for it. I have already approached my gym about teaching "group groove" which is a crazy dance/aerobic thing. It is like, an hour of sweating and partying. I'm into it.

ANYWAY - my point is - dancing is such a whole body affirmation of our physical presence on this earth - no wonder you were crying. that is so awesome. I can only imagine how WONDERFUL it feels.

You deserve this - let go of all that pent up bull - and DANCE!!
