Scar tissue maybe?
For months I would get this very uncomfy and not so pleasant pain in my stomach area. I asked my doc and its scar tissue, but yesterday I got a phone call at work from my sister and I found out my cousin was killed in a car crash yesterday morning and my other cousin was flown into UMass medical and might not make it. And after that phone call my scar tissue started to actually be very painful and hurt. Today it got to the point where its just killing me and i've tried everything. I tried eating, pain medicine, drinking more than usual, icy hot and its still hurting. Is it something I gotta just deal with? Could major stress be causing it? need help

Are they sure its not an ulcer? Scar tissue seems like it would be a benign thing that wouldn't be affected by stress; unless it's someplace that it could irritate or would be irritated by another organ that is affected by stress. I dunno man. Hopefully one of the medical peeps will be on soon and shed some light. I can't wait to hear more about this.
Feel better soon and I'll keep your family in my prayers.

Are they saying it is scar tissue inside your abdomen or on your abdominal wall. No one can say "scar tissue" for inside the abdomen unless they have x-ray eyes. If you can feel it...different story. Scar tissue shouldn't hurt. Inside it is called an adhesion that can kink off your intestines and cause pain. Call your MD!!!

I just can't imagine that it is scar tissue. Like I said I'm still wondering about an ulcer. I would call your doctor and get it checked out.

I'd definitely get checked out. A friend of mine had surgery a few months back and has pain and hardness there and they told her it was fat necrosis. It apparently is not liquifying and coming out the way it normally would.

I have a different opinion....scar tissue can hurt and get tingly, particularly if it's near nerve endings. I have some scars on my wrists (teenage stuff) that hurt and itch whenever I get hot or nervous. I would think internal adhesions may do the same thing.
Also, each person reacts differently to stress...your mind may be focusing on this burning feeling as a way to re-direct the hurt and despair you may feel. Ever notice how the more you focus on the problem, the bigger it gets?

The nerves in our skin and outside the abdomen are different than the ones inside. The outside is called somatic where the internal are visceral. They sense differently. Abdominal pain inside is a vague pain or discomfort/stretch/pressure until the lining of the abdomen (parietal peritoneum) is irritated and that is when it really begins to hurt as that is part of the somatic innervation.
Bottom line is you need to get checked out and more information is needed to make a diagnosis.
