Default Tightness

I know I may be pushing it only being 4 days out but I am really tight in my upper left belly after sitting. I've been walking a lot and I otherwise feel great. After I move around for a minute the tightness eases up. I'm drinking plenty and my wounds are clean and healing nicely. It seems that the longer I walk, the better the tightness gets but it's hard to walk for long in this Gulf Coast heat & humidity. Does this sound normal to everyone? Thanks for everything.

Sounds normal to me.. I have to Stretch that area out.. (and we had surgery on the same day).. not painful... just feels "shorter" when I stand up... thats where our new pouch is too, so you may just feel it healing!

How was your surgery? How are you feeling? doing?

I remember the tightness- it will ease up after a while. As long as there is no pain with it, I think you should be okay. Of course, as we all say here, if it seems unusual, out-of-whack, or if it oozes...call your doctor!

Just before my surgery, the anesteologist was telling me something about a muscle that runs vertically up and down your chest that is stretched during the surgery and afterwards attempts to return to normal, making us feel tight. That may be what you're experiencing - but maybe someone else knows more about it than I do.

Anyway, glad you're doing well - good luck!

BTW, AlabamaChick and I are in the northwest corner of Alabama - glad to have another Alabamian here on TT!!

I also experienced it and usually it goes away completely in about 3 weeks...just be happy you don't have to wear a bra!!! Talk about uncomfortable! Anyway, good luck on your journey

Thanks guys. Jen said it best "it feels shorter than the rest". I have had a totally uneventful recovery until I sneezed about 20 minutes ago - OMG!!!! My lower left abdomen felt like it split open! No wound within 3 inches but that HURT! Better now.
