Default My first "wow" moment - I fit!

I went to the movies with my family yesterday (saw Pirates) and was so pleasantly surprised when I sat down - I FIT! As all of you have experienced before, my waist was pressing into the arm rests (if they didn't fold up), making it of course, very uncomfortable.

Not only do I now fit, I have room to move around! I can actually stretch my legs out and fold my hands on my stomach without them being up so high. I looked down and can now actually see my belt buckle!

And that's with only 42 stinkin', ugly, lousy "never-to-be-seen-again" pounds off my body. I can - for the first time, imagine what it will be like when I hit one-derland!

My wife is exstatic on how I'm looking. She wants to take me shopping so bad, she can taste it! That may not be a bad thing at this point either. I've already shed my XXL shirts, and the XL are becoming quite roomy for me. My slacks have seen better days as well, so may see about getting some new one's this weekend as well.

Thank God for Wal-Mart and Target.

Right ON Pat!!!!! That is so exciting!

Yes, bless Wal-mart and Target! This past weekend is the first time I've gone into a shop and spent more than $20 on any one item, because, as we all know, who the heck knows where we're going to land!

What a wonderful WOW moment! Keep 'em coming

Default So happy for you!

42 pounds already! Wow, that's incredible. You'll be suprised at how fast you'll go through clothes in the first 6 months. I don't know how you feel about it but, clothing exchange is a wonderful thing. My sister had her surgery about 1 month after I did (although she didn't have as much to lose) and as she shrank out of her clothes I shrank into them, so it was nice to have someone that could pass clothes on. Just a thought. Have fun shopping!

Default Looking forward to the "WOWS"

That is so cool for you, the seating was one of my biggest fears. I refused to go to restaurants, bars, or theatres unless I knew or someone I was going with new the size and type of material the chair or seating was made from. This fear stopped me from going many times and every time I can say it ate a piece of my heart. I am happy for your WOW moment. What I great start you have had. I cant wait until my first checkup this Saturday when I will also step on the scale for the first time after surgery which occurred on 18 May, 2007.
Ciao
Paul

Right on man! I know what you mean when you say they are digging into you're sides. I got so big I had to fold them up and I couldn't have a person sitting in the seat next to me cause I need part of that seat as well. It was terrible.

I'm so happy for you man. You are doing great. I hear ya on the cheep clothes as well. In this time when you are loosing at such a rapid rate you don't wanna go out and spend alot of money on new clothes just to have them not fit 30 days later.

Awesome news man! congrats from the very bottem of my heart. You deserve everything you got coming.

Weigh to go, Pat!

Zen put it just right when she said these miracle moments will be smackin you upside the head with gusto! I'm soooo happy for you. Are those sMarty Boy boxers ready for you yet? Might need to post a pic of that!

Clothing exchange and/or thrift shop is def the way to do it while you're flying downhill. I can't tell you how many times I have purchased brand new, tag still on clothes at thrift shops for pennies on the dollar for stuff you can still find on the rack at Macy's. I also bet that if you were to come south as far as North County to Rain's (really not that far from you) that some of the guys and you could do your own clothing exchanges. The East County group doesn't have too many guys in it for some reason, but we get to have the Dave formerly known as Bigg at our meetings.

You rock, Pat! I would love to see you again--if you decide to take it south, let me know so I can be sure to be there, k?
