Just having a bad couple of days
I am sure some of you are tired of hearing me, heck I am tired of listening to myself. So to everyone I am sorry, I really have no one else to talk too, I do appreciate all of your comments and advice.
First of all I am lately I have been so tired and not sure why. I am even too tired to get on the treadmill so my exercise has been pretty much non existent right now and that really bothers me.
Last night we went for a walk made it one block and I had to go in the house and rest, I was exhausted. The other night I got on the treadmill and was only able to go 10 minutes.
Food, I hate food. My problem is everything I see I want. Whatever I cook for the family, I want to taste, just one bite won't hurt me and sure enough I cave and have a bite, nothing happens, just makes me want more.
I just ate some oatmeal, not much of course, but the rest of it is sitting here in the bowl and I feel compelled to eat it. Just continue eating it until it is all gone. I won't, I am going to go throw it away, but I deal with this all the time.
I feel like I could eat all the time. Isn't that like grazing, constantly eating through out the day? I think I am doing that, trying not too.
Yesterday I had my first vomit episode.. I picked up Subway for my husband, i thought I would eat a piece of the grilled chicken strip breast and a couple peppers, well I must not have chewed it up well enough because it felt like it was stuck. After a couple mintues it finally came up. Not a good feeling.
I want to make this work, i know this is only a tool and it can't be done by itself. I am scared like many, that I will be a failure. I am the only one who can make this work. My goodness it is hard, I just wish I wasn't so tired all the time. Hoping this gets better real soon.
Thanks for listening.

Hi Ronette,
I am sorry you are having a tough time. This surely isn't easy.
I am 3 weeks out and really struggling. I ruptured some of my stitches last week from sneezing, I am on pain medication and a lidocaine patch and I can't exercise. It is all I can do to get through the day and suddenly everything is making me nauseous. Yesterday, all I could get down was 1/2 a protein shake, only half of the recommended water and about 8 small bites of food. With every bite or sip I thought I was going to be sick. After all that and the scale went up by almost two pounds this morning. In total, I have lost 33 pounds, but my dress size has not changed at all. Very Frustrating indeed.
I am so thankful for this board as it really helps to inspire and keep your spirits up. Good luck to you and know that we are all struggling through this journey together.
Leslie

Oh Leslie I am so sorry to hear about your situation right now. I can't imagine rupturing stitches.
Funny my scale was up this morning also, maybe something in the air . Of course mine could be from my monthly visitor.. Haven't had it in I don't know how long and boom here it is, I am in so much pain with mine.
This board has been a great source of information, I think you need hours upon hours to go through and read all the posts. Wish I had that time. Everyone on here has their on story and in some form or another inspire others and that is just great.
please take care and I really hope things turn around for you.

Ronette and Leslie!
You are both still healing, and are bound to be tired...not really being hungry yet...give in to the fatigue, your bodies need rest to heal. The tool is with your for life now, no need to race through. Just follow the pouch rules that your Drs have given you, and you will both be very successful.

Hi Ronette,
I am so sorry you're tired and having a had time with eating. I had my surgery in early April and thought I was just doing peachy until one day when a small piece of meat got stuck. I threw it up and then threw up again the next day when I ate some salad! I was freaking out for sure. I think the first few weeks are the hardest and will pass no matter what, so try not to worry!

JUST wanted to add my input too....
early out its alot of trial and error and learning.....
every meal can be a new learning experience.
SOME days no you wont have an appetitie and
your eating for your survival.
JUSt do the best you can.
TAKE your vitamins!
SIP SIP SIP!
and it will come together. ALOT is going
on on the inside as far as healing!
AND it will fall into place in time....
just hang in there!
for me it took a good 3 months to get rid of that
tiredness after doing anything too strenous!

ARe you drinking enough. I found until I religiously took in 60-70 ounces, I was tired. In the beginning there were two modes. The first week I was energetic as well as the second. I think it all catches up with you by the end of three to four. Your vitamin stores are depeleted and you need to supplement.
Head hunger is a killer. Get it undercontrol now as you will be able to tollerate more foods later. Chicken breast is difficult at any stage. It has to be moist and soft. I can eat beef jerkey and steak without a problem, but plain chicken breast...forget it.
You will find your way. Just listen to your body and rest.
