I hope you guys are feeling better. Nette, are you taking your vitamins? How about B supplements? I couldn't eat anything of real substance for 8 weeks. Even now I still have trouble. As for the hunger, do you think it is head hunger? Just remember you are in the process of changing your eating habits. Don't eat in between meals, try drinking instead. As for chicken strips and peppers, I'd have trouble with that now. I was on soft up til 7 weeks. Did they give you a diet progression? Hang in there. ((((HUGS)))))

I thought chicken breast would be easier than steak and beef jerky, to me they seem like they would be so tough.

I still do better on beef, pork and fish than on chicken. It has to be super moist to eat it.

You are only 3 days ahead of my hubby and he is still having tummy aches in the morning. Dyann is right fluid is the most important at this point along with protein. Oscar eats pureed meats...last night was pork with a little BBQ sauce on it for moisture, no veggies yet or fruit, drink most of his protein in the form of Isopure and Unjury, he's getting 80 to 90 grams a day. Aso using the vitamins. he is disappointed at how little he can eat but I think that's normal for everyoen this close to surgery.

Hang in there...

Default Relax - it is working!!(a little long here)

There is something out of whack it sounds like to me - energy can go just trying to recover from surgery but I'm guessing (I'm not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV) there is more to it. B-12 is huge for energy levels, as is iron. When do you have your blood levels checked again? You may find something going on there and if Aunt Flo is visiting, all bets are off! Those first few after my surgery were very unkind.

Echoing Dyann too - you really need to keep up the fluid levels. Dehydration makes you a dishrag. Protein helps with blood sugar stabilization too so write everything down and see how you're doing.

Be sure you're taking in enough calories a day - you have to have fuel to exercise! In your fear of eating too much, perhaps you aren't taking in enough! Write it down to be sure!

Now as to the head hunger - having something physically out of whack will make it worse. If you're run down, your body is saying "Eat!!" so just getting everything straight will help.

That being said, you may want to eat everything you see, and that is frustrating, but you aren't actually eating it. You're living with the discomfort of not eating what you want. That takes some getting used to and it isn't a fun transition.

AND your pouch is working! You ate something it wasn't ready for and it smacked you around a little. Working just fine! So don't worry about failure - worry about following the rules, getting in all you're suppose to! You had this surgery to become more healthy - so - are you eating in a healthy way?? I bet you are - ta da! You're a success already.

The scale is posessed by Satan, so feel free to ignore it from time to time. Your body is in total shock so it is going to do all sorts of crazy things, like hold on to weight, water, whatever...After a year, I must say, I don't usually know what my scale is doing.

PS -I had to lose closer to 40 pounds for my clothes to really start changing. It will happen!!

SO RELAX!! You really are doing well. Worry about nutrition! The rest will follow if you follow the rules. Trust in the process!!
