Default Gum

Today I was chewing a piece of gum and I can't remember where I put it. I always make a conscious effort to watch myself throw it away. What happens if I accidently swallowed it and don't realize that I did it? Has anyone swallowed gum?? I think I threw it in a trash at the mall and my sister remembers that I took it out of my mouth. I just don't remember and it is going to drive me nuts. I also have a tightness in my throat and I think I psychologically made myself feel that way.

Wink Chewing Gum

This is one of my favorite things and was so happy to hear from Kelly that we could chew gum after surgery! I had been to a seminar for another surgeon prior to hearing about Dr. Callery and they said that they strictly forbid the chewing of gum and made it seem like they would have to do surgery again if you accidentally swallowed it.

NOT TO WORRY!

I specifically remember Kelly telling us at a nutrition seminar in her cute accent, "If you swallow your gum by accident, don't call us. There is nothing we can do for you and it will eventually pass through. Just don't make it a habit to swallow your gum." She said that several other surgeons will scare you into thinking that they will have to open you up.

Keep on chewing friend!

Arrow Irela

Irela,
What a relief. I don't think I swallowed it, but I am having such a forgetful day that who knows what I did with my gum.

I am 6 pounds away from the Century Club. It is so amazing and yes, 20 pounds until goal. Thanks for noticing.

Smile Hey Dale!

You are so concious about your gum chewing I'm sure you threw it away.... I would bet the farm! But I cant tell ya I HAVE swallowed gum, and I have lived to talk about it... I only did it once, and always chew small gum... like Dentyne or Eclipse or whatever... not the big 'ol bubble blowing pieces! But it happened to me and all is okay.
