Default Slower Weight loss, need advise

I would like to know kind of what everyone has lost since surgery and any words of advise. I had my surgery on March 21st 2007. I started out, as my highest, at 268 (258 the day of surgery) and now I am down to 224. I am scheduled to go to my 3 month visit at the end of the month. I know everyone looses weight at different rates, however, I am worried that I am not loosing what I need to. I know you loose the majority of your weight w/in 6 months and I am worried that I will not loose everything that I need too. Has anyone experienced this? What was the outcome, did you still meet your goal? Do you have any suggestions on what I can do? I am in the process of getting a tread mill I know extra excersize will help me. I have just been so busy right now with work and buying a new house. That has taken all of my time and unfortunantly, energy up. But any words of advise is much appreciated.

I also had surgery March 21st. I was 337 the day of surgery and now I'm at 251. I too feel like I'm a slow loser - but then I think "Hey, when have I ever lost and KEPT this much weight off?". I figure as long as we're following what the Dr tells us to eat and get in some kind of exercise daily (in my case I walk 30 min in the am and do water aerobics for 60 min in the pm), eventually it will come off! Best of luck to you!

Default Me, too

I had my surgery March 28 and I'm down about 47 pounds now - seems slow to me, too - I was kinda expecting to be down 60 pounds by the end of month 3 - 11 days from now - don't think I'm gonna make it. You and I started out at almost exactly the same weight - mine was 266. The weight expectiations chart at http://www.thinnerself.com/files/Exp...ches-BP-52.htm gives us both high and low expectations. I just put in my data and it falls almost exactly halfway between the high and the low - so I guess both of us are doing OK.

Have you tried fitday.com to chart your protein & calorie intake? I find that's a good idea. Keeps me aware of how much I'm getting (or not).

Good Luck

Carol

Like you know everyone loses at a different rate. If you feel you are losing slow sit down and make sure you are journaling your food. Are you getting in enough protein, calories, water? If you find you are slowing down in your weight loss it may be that you aren't eating enough calories. How much are you exercising? You may need to change up things a bit.

Don't worry too much about the 6 month thing. What I can tell you is that I have lost an additional 100 pounds since I was 5 months post-op. I am now 16 months post-op. So basicly, I lost 100 pounds in my first 5 months and 100 pounds in the next 11 months. Sure it slowed down a bit but I'm STILL losing at 16 months post-op. Your tool is still there at 6 months, 12 months, 2 years and forever!

32 the first month and then between 10-12 every month after that. Remember, some are slow loosers and some fast....in the end, follow the rules, weigh in only once a week and all will work in time.

Default Thanks

You guys have had some great ideas. That does make me feel a little better. If I am not getting enough Protein, could that slow weight loss?
